Subject: What do you think ODST is hiding?

One of the few and the proud, a Mythic Conqueror, I am.

It is kind of understood that to have a good game, you have to have a good story. To have a good story, you have to have plot twists and, in the case of ODST, reveal something unknown about the larger story arc.

We have seen the events both before and after the events to take place in Halo 3: ODST. We already knew the New Mombassa was destroyed. We already know that the Covenant will eventually meet their end at the hands of the Arbiter and Master Chief. What do we not know? What is their to be revealed in the climactic sequences near this new campaign's end?

The question is, what could we possibly discover in Halo 3: ODST that would require an entirely different campaign to unveil?

I am unable to answer my own question with great detail. I do, however, believe that Halo 3: ODST is going to serve as a buffer between two larger story arcs, as a sort of storyline conduit. We last saw Master Chief floating through space towards an unknown planet. Perhaps this campaign will reveal something about what he may find their. Perhaps, in the slip space event, new discoveries will be made that will allow for humanity to find Master Chief.

I believe that Halo 3: ODST is exactly what they say it is, an expansion. An expansion upon the story we already know in the form of a buffer connecting two galactic events. What do you think it is?

I have also been wondering what they really can do to make ODST have a strong story. It's like the Star Wars movies. Part of the suspicion and intensity of the new trilogy are taken away because we already know the inevitable end.

Maybe there is no major plot twist. Maybe there is. Either way, one thing you can expect is some of the ODST's in our squad will die.

Yeah, I'm sure that after all of the flashbacks you will probably be re-united with your squad in some form. One will probably die immediately and that will leave four for co-op play.

Well with the Halo trilogy, we never learned EVERYTHING that happened on Earth while the Master Chief was away at Delta Halo and that . So there is still limitless possibilities for Bungie to come up with.

However I do like your theory more and hope that is what they are doing
