I really couldn't believe it that we are finnaly getting a survival mode for halo, really cool, though I find it hard to believe that we can only play it with 2 people offline on 1 xbox. This really ruines it for me since I play alot with friends here and stuff, probaly many more people are dissapointed in this. I don't understand why this is done, because we CAN play with 4 players online in matchmaking. Why not in firefight mode?

I hope that atleast it will be changed in Halo:Reach to 4 players (If there is going to be a survival mode+add Scarabs!! :P )

Greets!

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Nope, maximum two on one Xbox.

What's so hard to believe? We could only have two people on one box for the 4 man max campaign in Halo 3 and this latest itteration of the real Halo experience is based off of the same fundamental mechanisms (which have limitations.) You could have made the same point that not being able to fill up a squad from one box would ruin campaign back then as well but you know what? It didn't.

So, just do like the rest of us and grab an extra xbox and monitor for some great LAN action, or keep things to the all too convenient Xbox live system.

It's about the firefight, really thought when I first heard about this mode that we could do it with 4 players offline.. Would have been so awesome. And getting a second xbox/tv just to play halo isn't normal for me.

Death to rank junkies.

I say more than 2. There is no reason for the limit, since you can do 4-player custom games.

You can do it with 4 players. You just need to put a little more work into it if you want to have all 4 people in the same place.

Oh, and there is a significant difference between you not seeing the reason for it (being for the lack of a better word, ignorant) and there not actually being a reason.

That might be, but WHY?
Why can't bungie just grant us 4 player slots, what's the meaning of it?
What if I have friends without an xbox?
Why are they making this so hard for us.

Or, in other, less technical, words, the cable that you plug your xbox into live with.

Even less technical, the stringy thing that goes click when you stick it into the big white thing.

Eh, the xbox isn't made of magic. It is made of plastic, and metal, and as such as defined limits to its capabilities.

One such limit: 2 players per box for the campaign. Any more than that probably does terrible things to the frame rate, and causes things to be not at all fun.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

I really wish that happened, but then again I wish every game would have 4 player splitscreen with bots.

If H3 campaign can't hold 4 player split screen, there's no way Firefight can. In firefight you can very well have 20+ aggressive enemies running towards you every minute. Those moments were quite rare in campaign.

But try to see the point of it, what could this make it worse for the ones that don't want it? It only helps more players become happy.

Im not sure about that crowded thingie, I remmember playing on xbox live with 16 players and 3 friends of mine, random weapons and you get a wild crowd aswell. It had no problems running. (No lag or anything)

It would if 4 players per box for the campaign worked. However, it doesn't, as evident by the fact that bungie didn't include it to begin with.

So, just accept reality for what it is, and get a friend to bring over an extra box. Speaking from experience, its not a hard thing to do, by any stretch of the imagination (even one as elastic as yours) and certainly is much more fun to do than beating sense into perpetually confused forum kiddies....hmmmm.....

*walks away*

Hmm I wonder what bungie's opinion is about this.

I remmember people saying that the halo horde mode would never happen, because it was to hard to create or some other arguments people had. And here is the horde mode, so I hope bungie might changes there mind in halo:reach if Firefight returns.
