Even the LE is worth it, saves you money on the l337 looking controller.

After a long long LONG time of consideration and thought put into this topic I've come down to a very logical answer that I find quite satisfying......

Oh yes, yes it is

I'm not buying ODST for the Halo 3 maps.
It would be more like this for me-

ODST Campaign- $30
Firefight- $25
Reach Beta- $5
=
$60

I probably won't even play the new maps after I find the skulls on them.

Not to be pessimistic, but I see the price as more of a giveaway to people who don't have Halo 3 already. Sure lot's of people have Halo 3, and just don't play it. But for the people who don't have it and the new Xbox owners, there hasn't been much enticement to buy Halo 3. With ODST comes out, it gives the campaign, plus the regular multiplayer. So if someone doesn't want to buy Halo 3, they can get ODST, with all the maps for free. But I think the $60 is justified even if you have Halo 3. The Wanted game had worse and less content than this, and that was $60.

People are thinking of it too much as an expansion pack. I know it is, but its more of a full game than, say, Oblivion's Shivering Isles or Fallout's Operation Anchorage.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

Legendary should be free by the time ODST releases, so take away $10.

Wasn't Shivering Isles more of a new game than an expansion? I remember people saying that it was huge.

Anyways, I recall Joe Staten saying on the podcast one time that ODST was originally supposed to be an expansion, but has grown into something much bigger.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Anyone who was willing to fork over $60 for Crackdown should have no problem spending the same amount on ODST. Crackdown was at best a mediocre game, and its only redemptive quality was the invitation to the Halo 3 beta included therein.

ODST, in huge contrast, will certainly be better than Crackdown as far as gameplay value goes, and will also include the entire Halo 3 multiplayer experience along with every single map as well as an invite to the Halo: Reach beta.

If you do the math, ODST is more than worth the $60 to anyone even moderately interested in Halo as a franchise.

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I'd say the Reach Beta alone would be worth around $15-30.

Yeah, sorry, that's probably a bad example. How about a Sims expansion. They're pretty petite.

At WORST Crackdown was a mediocre game. Sure, the multiplayer wasn't that good, but that's usually not what you look for in a sandbox game where you basically have super powers. I look for single player fun, like, do I get to choose what I do, or is there always another mission that I HAVE to do. I liked getting one of those long range gun and just headshotting the enemies on the ground.

Crackdown wasn't a multiplayer game, it was an open-world sandbox game, a really good one at that. This is my opinion, and you have your own, I really liked the game, and it seems you didn't. I think ODST will be really fun too.

Four shots, four kills, reload, repeat. This is the work of a sniper.
