I know this is off topic but, it's got to do with computers.
When I used to play Counter Strike: Source, I could play it flawlessly (without overclocking) at 90fps. Lately, it will only go 20fps max. I haven't changed anything on my computer or installed anything. I also haven't overclocked anything. All my other games work just like they used to except this one. Here are my computer specs:

AMD Athalon 64 3400+ at 2.4GHz
ATI Radeon 9800pro (All-In-Wonder Series)
Asus K8N-E Deluxe mobo
1 Gig of xddr memory

Ok unistall steam and half life. Then reinstall it dump any useless folders you have. Do a disk defragment. This should fix it.

I know you mentioned that this is off topic, but a thread like this is a good way to get blacklisted. Taking a leaf from Obaten's book...

Heyyo,

Most likely? you need to defrag.

also, there's a command, something like

heapsize

or: cl_heapsize. that sets how much RAM the HL1/Source(HL2) engine will try to allocate in kilobytes. so for you, you might wanna try this:

cl_heapsize "256000"

that should allocate around 256MB of RAM to HL1/Source(HL2). should keep your framerate more constant. Also check yoru vid settings.

And btw, you playing with bots? the official bots of CSS really suck when it comes to how many you can use, and keep a decent framerate...
