Subject: Something in the trailer

In the trailer, at the end when you zoom out and get a good view of the planet, you can see something in the top left hand corner. It's floating towards the planet. I can't make out the shape, and any of you tell what it is?

Just wait for Bungie to release info on Halo: Reach, Sherlock Holmes.

Here we are again bro... Just you and me. Same kind of moon same kind of jungle. Real number 10 remember... Whole platoon, 32 men chopped into meat... We walk out just you and me, nobody else. Right on top huh? Not a scratch... Not a f**kin' scratch. You know who ever got you. They'll come back again. And when he does I'm gonna cut your name right into him... I'M GONNA CUT YOUR NAME RIGHT INTO HIM!

Yur mom?

Just kidding I think it looks like a debris field.

I've been thinking, we hear the radio, with mentions of "Sierra 259" and "Sierra 320" There were only 150 Spartan IIs to begin with, and only 75 survived by reach. I'm sure they would have used numbers like 075 for 2 digit numbers. What if this is after the events of Halo 3, further into the future. I was thinking, those lights on the ground, look like the one's at the end cutscene of Halo 3, and what if that floating piece of debris is the other half of The Dawn?

Why can't people realize that this is in no way a sequel to Halo 3?

Why can't it be?

Why would Bungie leave such a wide open ending to not ever answer it?

Sierra 259 and 320 could be Pelican call signs for the ships the teams used. 320 being the one going to Circumference and 259 heading for the planet/after the crash landing.

I don't see what you're talking about.

Starting at around 0:55, a smile partially shaded shape slowly moves over the planet's horizon to the left. It stays above the sun for most of the rest of the trailer. But then starts moving right towards the planet.

But Sierra 259 says "This is Sierra 259. You've got Spartans on the ground, Sir. We're not going anywhere."
This clearly mentions Spartans. These could be the next generation Spartans. Or possible Spartan Is, but I doubt that.

Well about your statement before this one, you were speculating that this game might be after Halo 3. But that's not possible because the events of Reach that this game will most likely cover were before Halo CE. And I highly doubt that Bungie is going to throw in a time travel twist and have MC change the events of what happened on Reach.

I know the events of Reach happen before Halo 3. But I'm just saying based on the Spartan callsigns and the floating object, I'm throwing out the idea of it being a sequel. COuld it not be feasible that Bungie's throwing a curve ball, and that this is in the future?

When you are a pilot, you refer to your bird, not yourself. Like in Halo 1. Foehammer was the pilot's nickname, but her Pelican was Echo-419. Cortana refers to her as both.

Reach is a prequel, that looks like Mark IV or Mark V armor, it wouldn't be a second class of Spartan-IIs.

It's possible that could happen. But I'm just saying that I highly doubt that. And just because the floating object looks like a piece of MC's broken ship, doesn't mean it is said object. There are other ships that look like that in the UNSC.

I know Foehammer was Echo 419, but in military alphabet, Sierra is the designation for the letter S. In Halo 3, Master Chief was Sierra 117, it's the exact same for those radio transmission. Plus the quote says "This is Sierra 259. You've got Spartans on the ground, Sir. We're not going anywhere." I don't think a dropoff pilot would say that.

is a cluster of stars in the distance. It only appears to move because the camera moves.

If the camera was moving, the sun would be too, just like it did before the Sierra 259 transmission, but it's not. Yet the object slowly floats past the sun. A star system wouldn't move that quickly by rotation. Plus that wouldn't be the only star cluster we would see.

The spartan designation could work like Air Force one; no matter what plane the president gets in, it is Air Force One. The pilot of the pelican going to Reach died mid-flight,, it was either Josh or Fred who took over the controls, making them the pilot. They aren't going anywhere because well... they crashed.

  • 06.06.2009 6:45 PM PDT

the blue line going across behind the planet in the end is the milky way......

just throwing that out there

  • 06.06.2009 6:47 PM PDT

I don't think they would say it that way if they crash landed. Plus, they would probably use their own Spartan designation to express who they truly are.

Come on people. It's the small object above the sun. It moves to the right in the end. Can anyone get a close up shot?
