How exactly does the gamesave system work in Halo 3: ODST? It's a freeroam game, so there can't really be linear checkpoint markers like there are in normal Halo series levels. Is there an option to save the game, or are there save markers at the Superintendent terminals scattered throughout New Mombasa?

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

you just get checkpoints like halo 3 - you see them pop up in the demo video

i'm guessing they will pop up when you've travelled a certain distance or killed a certain amount of enemies

I HAS A FARNCH FRIE!

I'm pretty sure the Terminals will act as checkpoint systems possibly with Save/Load points and Ammo machines.

Yeah, the saves are probably how Bungie set out the Marathon Save points by accessing the Save computer thing. I'm taking your guess with the Superintendent.

Yeah, that would make the most sense.
Although that guy's theory about distance-related checkpoints would also make sense. :)

Seeing as how it's essentially open world, it makes the most sense to just have random terminals scattered throughout the city, which can be freely accessed at any time. A nice feature would be that previoulsy used terminals would show up on the map, unless they were literally scattered EVERYWHERE.

They should be scattered in areas JUST out of reach, so that the Rookie can see but not access them. Then the Rookie can go cry in a corner as he is ambushed by an 8-armed hunter. :)
