I was going to say that it might be REACH after the glassing, but then I noticed that the surface wasn't burnt.

Been playing Halo since 2001. I know my Halo.

Just because you can see the nebula, doesn't mean it's the same planet.

YEAH!! Now that you think about it they do seem pretty close.

  • 06.07.2009 11:57 AM PDT

yeah I think that was reach in the halo 3 legendary it just looks like they repaired the planet kinda like what they did with the halo in halo 3 but the back in time thing just doesn't seem to be true all I know is that this is a prequel but they have to make another Halo based after the halo 3 legendary ending if they stop making halo games xbox 360 won't be the same no more

i dont really get what halo reach is about but it sounds like how master cheif gets off the foward unto dawn idk. btw does anyone know where a gameplay trailer is for halo reach or am i just dumb for not realizing it hasnt come out yet?

  • 06.07.2009 12:25 PM PDT

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

There is no time-travel.

It IS a prequel, confirmed by both microsoft and Bungie.

Stop trying to connect the 2 planets that are NOTHING ALIKE.

you can see structures on the planet on the ending of halo 3, while reach was supposedly 'glassed' by the covenant
He could have flown for 100s of years. It may be 7777. Also, who has had a third source?

LOOK OUT FOR THE ROFL FRAMES OF DOOM!

1) Every planet looks alike with vistas
2) Reach wasn't that close to reach. Remember they never went through the portal
3) That planet on the legendary edition was uncharted - cortana didn't have intel on it.
4) Cortana would have made com contact with the orbital super-MAC station clearly shown intact and fire ready in the reach trailer.
5) The planet of reach was starting to get glassed on the trailer, starting with the polar regions - That was in 2552 - Before Halo 1. I know you are going to while about "time travel" - but knowing bungie they won't imply something THAT clichè into a Halo game.

  • 06.07.2009 2:10 PM PDT

I would just like to point out that MC didn't do any time traveling. His part of the ship(back half) only got cut off from the Arbiter's part (front half). Another thing, Cortana said it would take years before rescue and their ship probably wasn't moving anywhere near the speed of light, so that planet being Reach dosen't really make sense.

Why do we keep saying Bungie would, Bungie wouldn't? MICROSOFT OWNS HALO, NOT BUNGIE. /facepalm.

Microsoft may own the Halo brand, but as you may be able to tell from the fact that you are posting on Bungie.net, Halo: Reach is being developed by Bungie. Microsoft have had the good sense to let Bungie do as they wish with the franchise.

I'm standing in the 'It's a prequel' crowd. The blue sun, the Forerunner glyphs, and the 'Bungie hate time travel plot' facts prove it. Apart from the blue glow around the Legendary Ending planet being similiar to the one in the Reach trailer, I can't see any proof to the contrary.

And for my two cents, I personally wouldn't like the whole 'Chief goes back in time and changes the last three games' scenario. Haloe CE - Halo 3 were great games, so why write them out of canon? I do, however, like the prospect of experiencing the Fall of Reach.

What if he doesn't? What if he dies in it?

Chief wasn't involved on Reach. He was at an orbital station trying to wipe a ships Nav Data per 'Cole Protocol'. After that, he took Linda onto the 'Pillar of Autumn' and jumped towards Halo (Delta Halo, yes?). The rest of the Spartans (most of them anyway) went to Reach to repel the ground force invasion.

No one knows that thewaytheirworldended.com is an official arg.
Bungie said no, but they lie lots to us.

This game is a prequel, not the legendary.
Sorry, but your theory is not correct.

and about MS owning Halo franchise, MS knows that the game will not be nearly as good if bungie does not make it, and they'll lose a good portion of us, the real Bungie (not just Halo fans) and that'll hurt them.

NO, its not. read the friggin books. Reach is where the spartans were trained. my guess is that we will be experiencing the events that happened on reach between the end of "the fall of reach" and continuing in to "First strike". That's the only logical conclusion i can come up with. as for the videos i think that you are forgetting that the chief is Xgillion light years fro the galactic center or w/e spark said in halo3. seeing as the ship got cut in half by the portal the only way he could he get to reach in that time frame is some kind of time travel. and the complexity of the story that would be required to make that plausible makes my head spin. So im just gunna stick with my fall of reach and first strike theory seeing as the poster thingy for reach says "FALLS 2010" as in "The FALL of Reach". I can see how you would get that idea but i doubt that is what they have planned. But, its bungie so who knows what they have planned.

  • 06.08.2009 11:44 AM PDT

no it doesnt...the planet in the ending looks like a city-world full of lights and stuff...

Iam enjoying Halo Reach and revisiting some past Bungie games, iam a big fan of Bungie and their online community.

I have strong doubts about that.
