Subject: Theoretically, shouldn't the Elites be the bad guys in Halo 3: ...

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I mean in Halo 2, when you're in New Mombasa, you're fighting Elites as I recall... So have none come back to the area after the slipspace rupture to help search the area with Brutes alongside?

I'd love for another chance to fight Elites... I mean I love the Arbiter and everything, but for some reason I find them much more enjoyable to shoot at :P

The timeline covers from part way into Halo 2, to Halo 3... *sigh*

Hello.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed when I found out elites weren't going to be in the game as an enemy. Oh well, bungie knows what they are doing.

  • 06.06.2009 9:59 PM PDT

Regret left some brutes on Earth because he already was planning to throw the elites off.

*Facepalm* Do we have to cover this again?

  • 06.06.2009 10:00 PM PDT

Oya!!!!!

The elites clocked to go on holiday with regret and then truth and the brutes took up the night shift when you wake up

  • 06.06.2009 10:00 PM PDT

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

There is a transition between the brutes and elites. It's not certain at what point in time this takes pace, but I'd imagine they could be the reserve forces left to find whatever Forerunner related artifacts that are to be found in New Mombasa.

Dont you sigh me!
You need to get your facts straight!
You're not in New Mombasa in Halo 3, you're in the Mombasa Crater, and you aren't fighting elites at all in halo 3.

  • 06.06.2009 10:00 PM PDT

"That's quite a feat for such a small boy."
"I'm young not small."

I forget which book, but when the prophet of regret left he left a contingent of brutes, because that was about the time frame of when they began casting down the elites as their protectors.

  • 06.06.2009 10:00 PM PDT

Oya!!!!!

or its the changing of the guard

The game isn't set DURING Halo 3.

Are you actually that stupid? Have you not paid attention to anything, or any of the storylines and or timelines? When the ODST's arrive in New Mombasa, it is during part way through Halo 2! Not the beginning of Halo 3. No alliance had been formed yet.

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

Elites are more challenging, period.

They're not bullet sponges, like brutes are, and can dive amazingly far.

I miss the rush of taking on Elite Ultras on Legendary on Halo 2.

sigh.

Oya!!!!!

yes remember ghosts of onyx where blue team blows up the scarab there where brutes there

  • 06.06.2009 10:03 PM PDT

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

All the Elites left with Regret or died.

You said this:

You do not fight Elites at all in Halo 3. Perhaps you meant Halo 2. I'm pretty sure he knows when the game takes place.

My correction, I put Halo 3 instead of 2 as a typo, but still the reference to being in NEW Mombasa would have insinuated my point, but my bad. Sorry bud.

yeah dont forget the space elevator part, when fred saw the brutes;he remembers when john almost died in hand to hand combat in first stike when they are in that "elephant"(lol) space station.

  • 06.06.2009 10:10 PM PDT

Oya!!!!!

Uneven elephant . Yeah that was supposed to be the first appearence of brutes but then theres contact harvest and Halowars so much for secret and unknown. And in firststrike the brutes were super super strong but now you can just throw them aside. But i must say for some reason it looks harder to kill brutes now even though you have the same guns
