Do you guys think the Superintendent will go insane like the monitors and try to kill the Rookie

  • 06.06.2009 10:15 PM PDT

Hello.

Who knows, we will have to find out. I doubt it though.

  • 06.06.2009 10:16 PM PDT

possibly.

i could see him trying to get the covenant's attention on the Rookie, sirens going off near you, giving waypoints to the phantoms, turning on lights near your position etc.

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

Probably. There has to be a twist somewhere, and seeing as how no special covenant leaders are there for now,

hopefully a boss emerge, in the form of the Superintendent, a new covie head honcho we haven't seen, or Dare, as everyone is this forum seems to put the blame on.

It'd also be cool fighting city drones controlled by the superintendent, mechainial bots that usually ensure security and clean up the city, similar to sentinels.

I'd enjoy that, seeing as how there was little to no sentinel fighting in Halo 3, except for the last level.

true.

that actually would play in well as a semi-sorta boss fight.

you have to fight the SI, but he controls the city. so he can basically screw you over any way he wants.

it'd make for a great plot element, too. man vs machine-that-can-think-and-act-for-himself.

a LOT of potential, in other words.

by fighting the Superintendent you mean like setting explosives his power core or setting the city the city off in an explosion

yeah, like maybe you could find a way into his mainframe or something.

say there are a few critical points in the SI's system throughout the city. he goes haywire, you have to find and destroy the critical points (all the while he's trying to kill you)

it has GREAT potential, and would make for some GREAT gameplay.

imagine trying to hide in the city and use stealth, when the city itself is trying to kill you.

holy hell.

that would be SO -blam!- AMAZING.

I dont think so he's a "Dumb" A.I. they dont go rampant cause they dont think themselves to death. Maybe if he was a Smart A.I. but to quote another post I made this situation would occur

*Runs across the street shooting at some brutes as a car flies down the road at 120 mph and splatters The Rookie "Keep it Clean" evil laughter is heard"

I agree. "Dumb" A.I.'s are too logical to do that on their own.

Even if he's evil, the Superintendent gave the Rookie he's password when the Rooke answer that phone call in the demo. He can turn off the Superident, better let he can go to that ONI Building and control him.

There are chieftans in campaign and firefight. I got this from a weekly update months ago though. Brute Pimps - anyone remember?
