Subject: ESRB Rating, Possibly T?

The M rating has always seemed odd to me with this series. Other then the minor bit of blood and mild language I don't see why this series had to be rated M. I think we are all well aware that a good junk(majority even?) of players are under 17 years of age(a lot well under).

Does anybody think that for marketing reasons Reach will be a T rated game?

I think it's possible(unless the ESRB gives all FPSs M rating by default because of gunplay)

Why So Serious?

I'm pretty sure that Halo Reach will be rated M. If it;s not, well then i'll be surprised. Well my friend, only time will tell.

It is a new Halo Game, so expect the inevitable.

  • 06.06.2009 11:15 PM PDT

Plenty of shooters are T. But no, I hope it's M. More like Halo CE please with more blood, made it a lot more impressive.

From what I've seen, the ESRB has only ever taken back an M rating once, after first changing it to M for ES4: Oblivion. And seriously, besides the cursing, the games are equal, I'd say Oblivion was worse, since you could kill innocent people. But the ESRB are full of proud morons who aren't going give up M rating. Unless the gameplay drastically changes, I doubt any change.

From what I've heard, the Halo games have basically been rated M just because of the Flood. Now I don't know the timeline of Halo events, so anybody want to shed some light on the status of the Flood at the point of time that this game takes place?

You can dismember the flood, which is gore, making it M.

You're joking?
There's a certain character I remember talking to who was talking about.... having it with dead bodies....

As for Halo Reach, nah, it'll be M. Reach is darker story afterall

The only reason Halo 3 is even an 'M' is because the ESRB thinks a few splatters of blood and guns are too violent.

Halo 3 should be really violent...

I hope Bungie goes balls to the wall to earn that M rating lol.

Halloween Master... Boo!!!

Unknown and not there, the flood aren't spotted and reported back to high command till Halo 1. Since in Halo Wars they never get back to tell the rest of the human race about the flood.

HA!

  • 06.07.2009 6:50 AM PDT

Does anyone even read these?

Probably M or MA. Halo 3: ODST is rated MA I do believe, I guess we can compare with that.

"If buttered toast lands buttered side down, and cats always land on their feet, then what happens when you attach buttered toast to the back of a cat?

I'm pretty sure online has something to do with the rating as well, since most people who play Halo online go around screaming profanity into their mic's every 3 seconds.

The reason Halo: CE - Halo 3 was Mature, was most likely due to the flood and their gore. Who knows? Maybe without the flabby round things we've come to love, it'll be Teen. =)
