I see you

I hate Rupert Murdoch. This may permeate into my posts occasionally

Well, as of yet, we are unaware of what mode of transport we will be using to get around in ODST that doesn't mean we are running around everywhere. I believe i may have found some evidence towards using a Phantom Dropship.

I'll admit, this is actually highly unlikely, but there was something i've noticed that i thought warranted some discusion, and I've not seen anything of the like yet.

So, for the evidence.

If you look at the 3D Quicktime things that Bungie have cooked up for us, you'll be able to see what I'm talking about. We know that enemies are highlighted in Red in VISR mode. But what about blue, as evidenced in Romeo's.

Picture can be found here for Romeo.

For comparison, here is one with Dutch.

Looking at other things, it seems that Weapons are highlighted in Blue. Could this be the same for vehicles? Could we be using Phantoms?

This is highly unlikely, partly because I think that those 3D things are made in FireFight, and also because it is ridiculous. It does, however, warrant discussion. So have at it chaps

I would say that the dropship is unlikely. Cuz in those screens, the outline color shown on the HUD looks reddish to me, which denotes an enemy as you know from the videos. If I were to venture a guess, I would be of the opinion that ODST are put where they are in this game by hot drops. As far as transport for the ODST on the ground, the ODST units are sent in to be relatively sneaky and covert, as evidenced by the silencers on the pistol and SMG. So my guess would be that unless you can take enemy vehicles there will be little or no vehicle usage in the campaign since ODST aren't necessarily the guys that go in guns blazing.

if knowledge is power and power corrupts, isn't knowledge therefore dangerous?
Black Tower

i believe those were taken in campaign.
but it's the developers, they usually mod the game for the legal lulz.
but i'd say that phantom is blue since... maybe it parked? or it WAS elite driven, then uprising, piolet died, no brute piolets on board.
heh, maybe the SI hacks it for you.
guy above me: you can drive mongooses. i can tell you that right now.

I think it's blue because it isn't immediately hostile to you. It could be trying to capture you but I know that's unlikely.

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me much if that is the case. I kind of forgot about the Mongoose. That being said, most of my thought process was geared towards Hogs and Scorpions. I could see Mongooses in game since they are small and quick transport vehicles that would be needed to get around all the destruction at New Mombassa.

EDIT: Somebody already said this I believe, but maybe the blue vehicle registers blue until it fires on you or until you fire on it. Maybe it isn't an immediate enemy.

I keep having new scenarios. It's sad really. What if the dropship being blue is a covenant dropship that are grunts and Elites involved in the uprising against the Prophets and Brutes. Probably wrong about that though.

Well, Scorpions are in the game.

Look at the mini picture at the left, there is a scorpion shooting a phantom.

Monkey see, Monkey shoot.

Terry Pratchet - The Best.

Unless bungie are lying, there will be no elites in ODST. Said it in a weekly update a while back.
