I've seen many topics about how we fight Brutes, and not Elites. As much as we love to shoot elites, Bungie is right to make us fight Brutes.

The True Story

It was a peaceful day in New Mombasa. Well, not really. There was a war going on and a scarab was totally owning marines in the city. Johnson was oh-so nice enough to give Chief a shiny new scorpian. Cortana thanked Johnson, and Chief got set in his new toy.

Chief blew right through Covenant forces guarding a bridge they had to cross. He then went through a tunnel crawling with Elites. One lady was nice enough to give Chief a shotgun. Chief took advantage of this and made it successfully through the tunnel. He was now on a street, that led to a building that marines were holding off in.

Chief made his way through the building to the top. Marines had a scorpian out front to guard against the scarab. That didn't help at all. The driver of that scorpian is in a better place now.

The scarab went right over the building into a gentle little river-like, thingy filled with water. Chief fought his way through and boarded the scarab, and destroyed it.

After a one-minute celebration, Johnson picked up Chief in a pelican, and they boarded In-Amber Clad. The prophet of Regret was making a slip-space jump, INSIDE the city. Miranda Keys had no time to evacuate the city, so they went through the slip-space portal with Regret's ship. Regret's ship evacuated ALL Elite forces from New Mombasa before making the jump.

As you see in H3: ODST, The Rookie crashes and is asleep for about six hours. During those six hours, Chief kills Regret, and the loss of a prophet angers the other Prophets, and the Elites are banished from the Covenant.

The Brutes were now the guardians of the Covenant. The prophets of Truth and Mercy sent Brute forces to New Mombasa to guard the city.

The Rookie wakes up, and New Mombasa is filled with Brutes.

END OF STORY

So there you have it.

I thought that as well, and I'm sure that has something to do with it. Also in another thread someone said the slipspace rupture probably killed a number of elites on the ground. So the combination of elites dying and the schism of the covenant is probably why we're fighting brutes.

Anybody consider that it's going so slowly because we are all trying to access it and it's not even supposed to be public yet?

Also, if that is the case, it means it's also slowing down for the employee...he's probably going to just get up and go to Outback for a nice Bloomin Onion and we're gonna all be left sitting here wondering what the heck just happened to our mystery man

Damn.

Genius.

and it all makes sense too!

Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"

didn't bother reading it, because I don't need a essay long explenation:

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Apart from the spelling that was a masterpiece.

STBY(sucks to be you)

http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/338368/Group/GroupHome.aspx Join us, stop them.

CLASS, Read the books, it takes him about six hours to kill the Mercy and then about Five days to get off. Chief is the only survivor of the Delta Halo... Elites are kicked out, Some Grunts Join them along with The HUNTERS! now wait... something is not right here... OH WELL moving on...

Any way back at earth, TWO of the earth defence platforms are destroyed leaveing a small hole for the Cove's, who had a smaller fleet than when they attacked reach, to get through to NM the largest city on earth at the time.(but he jumps out and is looking at The North Amaircan Nations) and then plants the BOMB on a Cove' ship and then leaves soon landing on IN-AMBER-CLAD. How he gets in is a grand question to me. as well as WHO shot those ODSTs and Where they went.

Shortly after storming a brige and raiding a tunnel POMC-117 gets back in IAC and they join MERCY through to DELTA HALO. about three days into DH Elites are kicked out by the high order and then it takes a few days for them to join the humans in something i like to call, "The Union", the alliance of Elites and Humans.

Rewind to "Now" You are now an ODST and have been sleeping in your 'pod for nearly six hours. things that happend at Delta halo has not made it to earth yet(long distance calling, IT PUT A LOT OF MINUTES ON THEIR PLAN...) and because of the blast the Elites that were there, DIED and they simply sent the Brutes down to check it out.

Then alot of other stuff happens, NM goes off the maps after they start diging(Very convenint that we built the city ON the portal structere dont you think, OR mabye FORRUNNER hands at work...) and then we go through the portal and with the help of "Half-Jaw" and "Arbirter" we destroy the ARK (crap we just found it to *angry face*) and 343 goes insane killing johnson(again I thought he died in the First game...) and "Arbi" and "MC-117" make an insane jump onto INC and "Esacpe" but Master Chief goes MIA and goes into a deep sleep... I wonder how long they could last in there... And The Elites go Home stateing that now Arbirter is now their Leader and before they leave and form "The Union" Arbi sayes "IF Only It Were So Easy..." and you can see in his body language that he thinks MC is not dead... So where next...

Simple, they let you think what you want, My Ideas, Well that is how I came up with HALO KART a long time ago, and that MC is traped on a "shield world" meets his fellow spartans and they meet a Forrunner, named "The Guardian" who has with him a group of other forrunners and they look JUST like humans, There for makeing Humans the Reclaimers and all along some of the forrunners have hidden on earth and made everything happen, Leading to the SLIP-SPACE drive, Terraforming Mars, Finding HARVEST, the Meeting of the Cove's, The War, everything was by their design from year ONE B.H.L... BEFORE HALO LAUNCH... or as we call it, B.C. BEFORE the "CALLER"

Thats kind of true but chief didn't kill Regret during the Rookies unconsciousness

  • 06.07.2009 9:04 AM PDT

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Exactly... or almost.

Elites, still as the honor guards, are the protectors of Prophets. Even Half Jaw says it. So their main job is to protect Regret.

So in a way Brutes are sent to do the dirtywork of killing humans and guard the place. Elites don't actually want to do it. Of course that's Truth's plan. When he issues the exhange of hats there won't be much of a civil war going on Earth, which is a good thing for Truth.

Just put some Elite bodies here and there and I'm happy. They all didn't get blown away by pressure wave if there are trucks, bins and other garbage around too. Of course just a few living Elites here and there wouldn't be bad. Maybe some good old 3 way fighting
