I keep hearing about how the MC is going to travel back in time to land on Reach.
How daft.
If i cut my sandwitch in to 2 parts, 1 half dosn't zoom off in to time and re-appear a couple of days earlier.
Think about it.

time traveling is the most ridiculous theory ever imaginated.

this is not star trek or star gate or whatever thing with "star" you can think of.

I personally think that time travel could be an awesome concept, but I feel like it would be too complex and confusing for them to properly implement in the game.

I seriously doubt that time travel is involved in any way.

I just think it would be corny. It would seem like Bungie can't come up with any better ideas to tie the stories together other than time travel... like a bad TV show or something.

honestly if they were going to go the time travel route, they wouldnt go back a few months to a battle mc already fought,

seriously i cant see how anyonee can possibly think, that time travel needs to be involved,
when star wars episode one came out, i dont think anyone was saying there was time travel

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

Time-travel theory is stupid. Hard headed people need to get it through their thick skulls.

When Star Wars Episode One came out, I wished I could time travel back and not go see it, but that's a different story.

Since Master Chief had a role in the fall of Reach (read this!), he could play a part in the game, but it's unlikely.

My money's on a totally new story, with a new cast, including some Spartans we haven't learned about before. That's an exciting prospect.

i just hope all spartans have bad ass voices

bungie usually does good with voice acting

i hope jack black is in it
jk

Forever there shall be war, thus forever we shall fight...

Jack Black as a SPARTAN, I lol'd. My money is on a new cast of SPARTANS, whether they are class ones, twos or SIIIs is still up in the air.

Marathon Man did it.

We're talking about a world where the future is full of super Spartans and aliens called elites...... They can do anything to the story..... >.> Doesn't have to be realistic.

  • 06.07.2009 10:26 AM PDT

christian bale? jk
sean connery would be an interesting spartan
jeff foxworthy probobly
they could have some rapper voice one of the spartans to attract a bunch of attention haha

Agreed. I don't think Bungie is that lazy to make MC travel back in time to save Reach so that they don't have to make up a new story. There is so much fallacy in time travel. First off Reach falls, obviously (hence 'Falls 2010'). What would he do at Reach? Come out 'gunz-a-blazin' and destroy all the Covenant by himself while the other Spartans hang back? I think its obvious that we won't see post-Ark Master Chief during Reach.

Actually, they had more than enough time. For all you know, they could have planned this from the start of Halo.

Planned what? Making MC time travel or just the Halo story in general?

I agree, but then again this game is being made by Bungie... and if you would have told a halo combat evolved player, that in halo2 you would spend half the game as an elite they would have said that was just as crazy

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I agree it's crazy. Now, what's not crazy is Master Chief being thrown back i time, but he now is trapped in the body of an Elite, and he undergoes several comedic occurrences as he tries to acquaint himself with his new body, and in the end he learns a valuable lesson of how mean he has been to the Covenant, and he gets his old body back after realizing it. There will also be a romantic subplot where he falls for a female elite, but he's afraid she won't accept him for his human self, but when he gets his old body back, they overcome their inter-species problems and true love prevails.

That's a much more plausible theory. :D

For those who did not get it: That was sarcasm.

The thing I hate most about this time travel theory is that everyone who supports it makes it out to be in the same style as Back to the Future, where the Chief goes back and fixes things. I mean, if that were to actually happen, then that means that the Chief already did all that stuff and went unnoticed in the books.

Not to mention just how weird it would be that here we are in a trilogy of games with a linear progression, then all of a sudden we get a fourth installment, a prequel, that introduces this new concept that's magically supposed to explain just why Halo 3 was the way it was, and how Reach was really "saved" with two Chiefs running around.

  • 06.07.2009 11:09 AM PDT

He does. It's explained in the novels.

However, he does not go back in time.
