THE DARKNESS Continued

Chapter 4-The Ruins of Cold Storage

I woke up to an unfamiliar surrounding and opened my eyes and took in the area aroud me. The walls were rock and covered in icicles of frost and ice which seemed to grow around the wall as if they were alive, I looked to my right to see a sheild door about 10ft tall and about 12ft in width and I also noticed a big green glow which I recognized as a Healt Regenerator. As I was staring at the comforting glow with weary eyes the memories flooded back to me from before I fell unconcious. I realized with a jolt that Pain had been taken and that I had lost my Magnum, where was I and why was I here and what In the name of the Master Cheif was a ALPHA ZOMBIE. I remembered with reluctance that someone had sounded the guardians and screamed those very two words, I tried to make sense of the phrase. Okay, a Zombie is a undead being and an Alpha is like a master or something so what would that make an Alpha Zombie, a master zombie maybe?

As I brooded on these facts I noticed movement towards the east and my radar detected a swift movement on it's little circle blue screen that shone independantly. My mind must have been scattered when I blacked out so It was hard to try and make out the movement that was-well-to-swift to be a SPARTAN or for that matter an ELITE which was just so crazy I put it out of my mind. I also realized that I had a big dent in the back of my Mark VI helmet and pondered on how that had come by.
"Okay I have to get out of here", I said to myself, then I made a mental note to stop speaking to myself, it classes as a sign of weakness. I stood up and then wondered if I should try and get out at all because whatever was out there was not good and I had a really bad feeling in the pit of my Mark VI armour. As I paced around the room I took a stroll over to where the Health Regenerator sat spinning quitely giving off pleasurable green light that seemed to caress my sore limbs. I turned the Regenerator off and was instantly taken over by an immense pain from the dent in my Mark VI helmet and I almost blacked out from the pain. Again. I finally worked up enough attitude to pick myself of a most uncomfotable posistion on the floor and limped over to the sheild door and picked up a assault rifle of the floor after that I awkwardly climbed to the top of the purple building and took a look at what used to be the MatchMaking HQ. I had to find PainAddict and I had to fint out what had laid ruins to one of the most well guarded and most important map in the whole of the MatchMaking Universe.

Chapter 5-The Infection

As I stared at the terrifying scenery, There first thing that I realized was the dead. The Blood which had leaked from the victim, had covered the pure white floor with a scarlet coating and my mind took a few seconds to register the death that lay before me. My mind just went into autopilot as I searched through the bodies and with horror I found the body I had hoped that I would not find at all. Pains body lay shriveled up in front of me ans as I picked up the body I mourned over the death of my friend that had helped me through numerous situations in my life as a SPARTAN trainee and I did not know how I would cope without him. Anger surged through me and I wanted to avenge the new death of my friend and I wanted to avenge it now!

As I searched through the endless bodies of the dead my radar read that there was movement towards the edge of the Cold Storage HQ, as I followed my radar and my instinct I noticed that a body had moved, or quite frankly it had dissapeared as I went to check it out I heard a low moan come from one of the bodies and with a new spark of hope I sprinted towards the voice. Once I got to the body, Breathless with horror I realized that all the bodies had started moaning and then in my helmet I heard the Matchmaking Overvoice say " New Zombie" and I freaked out because that was the overvoice which usually started a match saying something like"Slayer" or "Capture the Flag". And I realized that the the whole zombie horde that was moving at me with incredible speed and very un-zombie-like jumping with bloodlust clear in their eyes.

Chapter 6-The Escape

As I wondered what the hell I should do I had to fight off a number of zombies and, like they had invunerbility they absorbed the shots from my assault rifle and I resorted to beating them down. As I tore across the snow I picked up a fallen Spartan Laser and charged it up and let loose on some of the nearby Zombies. Fortunatly luck was on my side and I killed a Zombie with each shot(or was it re-killing?) but on the unfortunate down side I was fast running out of ammo.

I ran into something unexpected as I dodged the crowds of the undead SPATANS and ran into a fusion coil and to my very painful experience was sent flying out in the clear view of the deadly guardians. Luckily the guardians were all half dead themselves and as I limped to try and move out of the way of both Zombies and Guardian fire I imagined that the view of the guardians was probably the safest place to be(how confusing), so I lay down on the floor and pretended to be dead. CRAP, I cursed and flailed as a plasma beam hit me straight on in the foot and in my scattered brain must have not thought about how advanced the covenant guardian was and that it would not have been fooled by a plan as feeble as mine. I blacked out for the second time that day.
