Subject: Space Battle?

A firefight map where you defend a Marathon-class cruiser from Covenant boarders. They come in dropships and boarding craft and have Seraph support going against your ship's autocannons. The entry points are the open hangars, hull holes and airlocks. Covenant ships fly in the distance shooting plasma torpedoes and pulse lasers, some barely missing, some cooking everyone on the outer hull. The cruiser itself keeps firing Archer volleys past the holes and keeps shaking when the MAC fires. Volleys from the Orbital stations fly past, detonating Covenant vessels in magnificient explosions of plasma. And lots of human wreckage and ships going past too. Best part is when the ship MACs a Covenant carrier and flies right through the expanding debris cloud.

It would be cool if you could control the ship by using voice commands. Like in End War, but Halo!

I would like to see some epic space battles, Both Cutscene and in maybe in realtime as you prgross through a level or two.

To be able to see one in a cut scene or for it to be takin place above you in a level, then a ship crashed down halfway through and your misson is to clear it of hostiles ensure that any surviors escape would be sweet.

As for flying the ship, no. Just... no.

The novels focus a large part of the plot on space battles and how the Covenant decimate the Human ships. A level similar to Cairo Station would be cool, but I would be happy with some very detailed cutscenes by Blur Studio (Halo Wars, Star Wars: The Old Republic).

even if we didn't get to take part in the battle in any way, the space battles were always my favorite parts of the books.

and how!

Seems more likely to me that for a Space Battle you would play as a Captain of a ship on the bridge looking at screens being able to move around and give orders, but not directly controlling the ship yourself.

get out of here stalker

I say again, it would be incredibly ridiculous to pilot an actual capital ship.

You have Navigation, Engines, Weapons, and Piloting. No way you can do all of this on your own.
It doesn't have to be realistic. Of course you won't be doing all of that, what you would probably do would be just flying around a huge ship and firing your MAC at stuff.
