Subject: Will people adapt to being tactical?

Agreed

players are used to having sheilds that regenerate and being incredibly strong and powerful, but will people who play ODST be ready to play like a real human?

I'm sure most people will run out and die the first few times, but then they will catch on and get the hang of it.

Life's a -blam!-, always testing you. All you got to do is get up from your desk, kick it in the balls and walk out of the class. Then you come back later, and pass the test.

Some will run out thinking it's more of the same, get killed five times, then sell the game in frustration.

Others (I.E. people with brains) will figure it out.

I'll be the person that thinks its just like halo3 and your super powerful but I won't sell the game I will
end up adapting in some way though!

Check out this thread if you'd like to use your custom character in Co-Op. http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=13792191

Well I think this game is for a different crowd than the regular Halo games. Some will catch on much quicker than others. I'm sure some will just get frustrated and come on here and say it sucks.

They play like a real human in most every other shooter on the market so the transition to ODST will not be that drastic of one.

Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

I take a tactical approach to Halo anyway, usually stay back and picking my target. So I don't think the transition will be all that noticeable for me.

All the videos I've seen they really arn't being to tatical. Pretty much looks like Halo 3 game play.

I hope because playing over XBL with ppl you don't even know may be difficult if they don't know how to play.

Hm, yeah, what Alec said: some will adapt, others won't. And that's okay.

You have shields in the game. It's the stamina system. It won't be as severe an adaptation as it might seem it would be.

But I imagine that there will be a bit of difficulty the first few minutes, trying to get used to moving slower, jumping slower, holding only one weapon, ect.

Four shots, four kills, reload, repeat. This is the work of a sniper.

It isn't really being tactical, its just being slightly more careful. If you watch the gameplay, you can't really call that tactical.

if knowledge is power and power corrupts, isn't knowledge therefore dangerous?

I don't want to join your group LEAVE ME ALONE D:!

I would call this the cliche, "Do or Die" and for the first few weeks/days of it, it's going to be die.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

I've always been tactical, especially in objectives. So it will be no problem for me to actually use some strategy in campaign.

The gameplay that they've shown us though has probably been set up so that you can't die. How bad would that look if the guy demoing the game for the audience gets to the first group of covenant and gets killed. It will be more tactical than they are showing us, I'm betting.

This made me lol. Anyway I'm sure I'll adapt to it fairly quick. Most of my friends will to. It's going to be fun anyway I'm sure.
