Okay we all are familiar with how halo 1-3s set up for combat and all is but what i think we could do to spice it up is let every person customize their spartans skill for example

You have 20 points to spend on the following.

Strength - 5
Agility - 3
Stamina - 2
Sight - 3
Driving - 2
Armor - 5

Now each skill is self explanitory

Strength - is for how strong you are, Ex. You can pick up a warthog and throw it at someone

Agility - How fast you can run or jump, and you can run by hitting your left analog stick. And crouch will be set to right analog. And you can do a combination of these like run and then hit crouch to do a roll on the floor.

Stamina - Now you can have a stamina bar so when you run of out energy your person will be slowed down and your can't run so your goal now is to find a nice hidden place and catch your breath. so the more stamina you have the more you can run and do physical activities

Sight - For sight this can increase your guys skill with guns. Like better auto aiming and how far you can see when you hold the zoom button down.

Driving - you can increase your driving skill by making the cars handling better and how better you can drift. ect.

Armor - How much health and shields you have.

This is a few traits i came up with.

A few improvements for game play

Sprinting - As i mentioned before hit the left analog stick and run

Crouching - Use right analog stick

Rolling - Crouch in a direction while sprinting

Leaning left or right - Use left or right buttons for leaning in that direction. Like say if your hiding behind a wall and you need to peek out to your left just use the right button to learn so you can fire (You can also do this while crouching)

Zoom in - Use the d pad up and down

Switch weapon - use d pad left and right

Use equipment - Use the back button
Picking up stuff - Hold A to pick up stuff like barrels or warthogs and throw them with the right trigger

This is just a bunch of ideas I came up with to improve halo. If you think anything can be improved then just add on onto this. Remember we are just trying to improve halo :P

and how!

That would be suitable to a Halo MMORPG, not a Halo FPS or even a Halo MMOFPS.

That's 9 e's.

That's a pretty interesting idea that people would either love or hate. It might spice things up a little, but it could unbalance the gameplay and take away from the core gameplay that has always worked for the Halo series.

so your telling me a combination of gun firing ,running around ,throwing grenades, jumping, throwing warthogs at people , and more hiding combat would only be suitable for a mmorpg? No its not! that would be way to complex for a mmorpg. That halo combat just adding more playability.

I started Starori games in 2011.

No one has the right to take the life of another.

yah...no. i would rather play mass effect if i want to play a space marine with customizable options. still its a good idea.

it doesnt upgrade when you play alot. It's just for different attributes for different spartans. Like for ctf you can get somone who is fast with armor to grab it and have strong armored guys and guys with better gun skills to guard em. its just team work and it makes it mthore realistic because in real life people are better at things. Or if you know halo lore master chief wasnt the fastest or strongest spartan. He had good leadership skills and a lot of luck

No...that is taking Halo combat and making it more like WoW.

More playability is making more weapons and vehicles and things that you can jump right into a game and access, not spend forever customizing and unlocking.

And MMORPG's are LEGENDARY for being way overly complex, if something is too complex for an MMORPG, how the HELL do you expect to fit it into a fast paced game like halo?

Sorry but I've got to disagree. One of my favorite parts of Halo is that it is very straightforward. Its very simple, and very easy for people to learn. This is Halo the FPS, not an RPG of sorts.

No, I'd hate this because there would be those idiots who just want to put all of them into agility and run around doing nothing.

  • 06.07.2009 10:18 PM PDT

One of the reasons I love the game now is because of the simplistic control scheme.
It'd be nice to see some additions; but that's a radical reworking.

  • 06.07.2009 10:47 PM PDT

No one wants RPG elements in Halo.

  • 06.07.2009 10:49 PM PDT

I don't think the gameplay of halo needed improving... some refreshments yes, but nothing radical. It would change it to much for my taste.

  • 06.07.2009 10:51 PM PDT

I is in your thread reading your post.

Bungie isn't really into drastically changing gameplay from game to game.

Like there's only 3 or 4 gameplay changes from Halo 1 to Halo 3

and ODST you could say it has a whole list of changes but really it still plays as a Halo game

  • 06.07.2009 10:52 PM PDT

In an FPS that will never work.
There will be one suitable combination and everyone will choose it from thereon out. Would be useless to implement.

I'm A Rusty Tongue on Live. I like mongooses.

Now go away.

That sounds a bit like Crackdown, which Halo is not.

Halo has kept it's fans thus far, and Bungie knows what they are doing. I'll go ahead and trust their ideas over theirs or mine. Sure, I may suggest things, but these changes seem too drastic.

picking stuff up sounds good, but the stats aren't right.

agreed. I think they should keep it classic halo multiplayer

  • 06.08.2009 12:37 AM PDT

if reach turned out to be like that might as well hold onto h3 because that game will be so much better than reach no body will play that game!

ok so take out the stats... how about we keep the leaning left and right and the sprint thing? I think those would add more flexibility in dodging and hiding behind things and shooting.

Send me out with a bang...

In some ways you're talking about Rainbow 6's system of armor. Some make you move slower and offer more protection while others do the reverse. Yet you can also find a happy balance if you like.

Your exact system would displease way to many fans. Halo is Halo... if you change to much, it becomes something else. I personal don't think a sprint would hurt. Perhaps a more user friendly system of fewer stats. Like Armor, Damage, Speed.

Even as interesting as that idea is... I don't know in the end if I'd even like it. Seems like a play test kind of thing... and knowing Bungie I'm sure they've thought of such things.

Well the image i have of this would be cool but i don't know what these people are imagining. I just picture regular halo first person but you can just interact more with the world around you like pick up vehicles and throw them and all this stuff i came up with. I think that if your hiding behind a corner wall or something and some guy comes walking up you can hold down the right button to lean out to the corner and shoot at that person and all they can really see if your head and gun would be really cool. You know all those people that complain how Halo isn't realist blah blah blah. I'm sorry if anyone dislikes my idea but I still think it's a good one.
