Peronsally i think that if they are changing us $60 for an expansion like this, they should have just made it a full out game. I personally think that it would be great if they focused more on it being a great game than just an expansion.

And idk if i remember right but i think they did say something about it not costing $60 cuz its not a full game. IDK. No need to kill me on that one guys.

I think the reason why its not going to be strong with the current Halo 3 community is cuz that its a very different style of gameplay. In H3, you could pretty much go guns a' blazin and make it out ok. In this one, it seems like you gotta pick your fights alot more smartly <(not an actual word :P)

Personally, I will end up buying ODST cuz I love Bungie and they love me. :P

I'm very interested in what they are going to do with this title.

Nope. I will buy Mythic map pack 2 from market place and rent ODST and save myself $45 dollars for $30 dollars worth of expansion. Do the math...

ODST comes with Maps, a $10 part itself, then a ~6 Hour Campaign, like Halo 3, with Firefight, which Halo 3 didn't have, along with Halo 3's multiplayer complete.

Overall, it has everything but Halo 3's Campaign, plus Firefight, plus ODST Campaign, plus Halo: Reach Beta, plus ODST Theater.

yes because firefight and being an odst will be a cool change from the mc im just not too thrilled about the health packs

I think Firefight will turn out very nice. But i think that Firefight could have easily been something that they could have added in in an update or like a DLC. And i'm very iffy about the Reach beta.

Ya but the thing is the $60 price hike was because of disc 2. Instead of downloading 3 maps from market place MS actually expects me to pay extra for content I already have. I didn't know I needed all of the maps to own dumbass AI bots with friends or to play a short campaign. On top of all this they charge us to Beta test their games........Seriously ODST is rental status. I can DL Mythic 2 from MarketPlace and rent ODST and save $45. DOO DUH MAF!!!

Plus there won't be codes to play the Beta. I will just rent it again to get up on HARVEST.

I too am a Halo fan but will be renting. Throwing money at fat cat devs doesn't make you more of a fan. I wouldn't pay my friend $60 for a dub sack. Why the heck would I give Bungie $60 for $30 worth of expansion content?

Ya i do slightly aggree with the $30 expansion content stuff. But you really never know what they are going to do with this. They could expand the expansion. You never really know.

  • 06.07.2009 10:54 PM PDT

its an actual game now and if your not buying thats your deal and not everyone has halo 3 so they're not exactly "throwing" their money at the devs who have obviously created this magnificent line of games

It would be sweet if they expanded on the expansion. But seeing how close we are to release day my guess is they are done developing ODST. Like I said ODST is a guaranteed rental. I can wait till HARVEST comes out to shell out that kind of money.

  • 06.07.2009 10:58 PM PDT

why are you calling it harvest its reach what if your friend decided to call you jeff out of no where

  • 06.07.2009 11:00 PM PDT

Formally Rogue Spartan

Hell yeah am I going to buy it! I am going to buy the special edition with the controller. Which is £79.99 in the UK or $127 so I have no idea why SO MANY people are are complaining about the price.

People have to do that thing called living you know. That's why they charge money for things.

TYTY why should I have to pay extra for a maps to a game I already bought. So the people that don't have H3 can play H3MM??? If they didn't buy H3 what makes you think they will buy ODST?Seriously that is the lamest excuse for the price hike I have heard since this forum popped up...My bad I meant Reach....it's 2 AM here so please excuse me.

i never played halo 1 or 2 in my life before 3 came out and i play it so yeah i do think people will buy it and not everyone who played the original 2 have a 360 to play number three on so i could so someone playing it first and dood its a game i think all game prices are unreasonable but its how much time you actually spend playing it that pays off

No Duh BOO4. Aren't you the regular Sherlock Holmes. No one said Bungie should give ODST away but the fact remains that half of the money you spend on ODST is because of Disc 2. I already have everything on disc 2 except for Mythic Maps 2. If you want to pay for stuff you already have then feel free to do so. I can rent ODST & DL the maps and save $45. Spend away....

TYTY, the thing is Halo is huge because of the fans. Most of the people who buy ODST will be the fans who already have everything on disc 2. M$ is just taking advantage of us fans when they decided to double the price. No matter how you look at it the justification for the price hike is completely messed up........Seeing how M$ actually owns the HALO IP, I fail to see why Bungie clings to it the way they do....They were braggin on their independence from M$ yet they keep making Halo games. Maybe I am short sighted and Bungie is looking way into the future while banking money now. I would rather have Bungie on M$'s leash controlling the price for us fans. Not only did they give up Halo to the M$ suits, they also gave us fans up to them as well. Either way you look at it Money talks or Greed is the root.
