93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

I see a lot of complaints about the BR. This has nothing to do with the BR being over powered. The problem is that the Halo 3 BR is the only "Assault Rifle" in the game. What do I mean by Assault Rifle: Well a gun that works decently well at all distances. Basically like an M16 or a G36c, any gun that works best at medium range.

Well in a game like Halo 3 where you can't pick your gun based on the map, of course a multi-purpose gun is going to be used.

The biggest problem with Halo 3 is there are 10 Dual Wield able guns that are only useful in Campaign. They are pretty useless for multi-player.

This way you can still have the M16, cough BR (to please Hardcore fans), and add some vareity to game play.

Good examples of "useful" weapons would be the scoped, headshot capable SMG from ODST and the Auto-Mag from ODST. If these weapons are half as useful as what Bungie says they are, then they are probably 10* more useful then the Plasma Rifle in multi-player.

So basically if we just have more guns like this, and more multi-purpose guns I think that would help variety for less hardcore fans, and hardcore players can keep their multi-purpose headshot capable BR, or even get something they want, a 4 shot, single shot weapon, with the ROF of the BR, with no spread.

BR =/ overpowerd. It just = only gun of its class. Every other class of gun in Halo 3 has 5+ weapons, the Assault Rifle class has 2 guns. Considering that 50%+ of military soldiers are equipped with an AR class, it makes military sense for people to be getting kills with the Battle Rifle.... so unless there variety needs more "AR" class weapons.

Naah people are talking about Reach MP. Right? Because that is why I am purchasing this game, I beat Halo 3 Campaign in 6-8 hours, but I've played MP for 300+ hours.

That...was confusing, you're grammar sucks. HOWEVER, you are in the wrong forums, just because you made a mention to the new guns coming out doesn't change that. You are still talking about BRs vs ARs.

Don't compare a game to reality, if I wanted reality, I would join the army. (actually I'm doing that anyways). This is a GAME, if a player wants to use something different, he should be able to.

Carbine is in the same class as BR. And I disagree. You only need one weapon for each class, any more is just appealing to the gimmick crowd. But Bungie probably wants that so sure... have 40 weapons for each class.

Here's an idea: make all sorts of weapons available in the multiplayer sandbox, but only use a balanced selection of the more useful ones for general matchmaking. That way, players can use any weapons they want in custom games, while competitive multiplayer is kept running smoothly. The more exotic and less popular weapons could still be added to matchmaking at any time, perhaps for fiesta-style gametypes or simply to mix up default map layouts.

It doesn't even matter if the same weapons are in the single player. There's no reason not to include weapons from previous Halo games. Multiplayer is not, after all, canonical, so an anachronistic selection of weapons should pose no problem. Why not make Spikers available, for example? There would be no obligation for them to appear by default on any maps, but if a player wants to make a Spikers-only gametype, why not give him the tools to do so?

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Personally I wouldn't want them to get too bold with weapon changes. Everytime a change gets made, the effort at rebalancing the game can get frustrating. The hard thing is that they can only find so much out during a BETA, and some issues with weapon balance don't flesh out until months of regular play have gone by.

Quite honestly I'm not a fan of how the BR has effected MP, it has streamlined it to a rediculous level. I doubt it would be in this game, but it is a possibility. We'll just have to wait and see.
