Subject: A genius' savings plan

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

So I had nothing to do today, was given a free day off from work, and I came up with a great idea for buying ODST. I mean, $60 isn't a bad price to me, I could buy it normally if I wanted to, but this just seems like it could be fun while waiting for the release.

A bit dorky, but

I made an ODST savings fund

If you just put $0.60 aside every day from today until September 21st, you'll have $63.60, which should be enough to buy it, with tax, in most US states. I made a calender so that I can mark off every deposit I make, in case I don't make a deposit one day, or make a few on one day. I already put in enough for the week.

I don't know if anyone is going to do this, but I figured I'd throw it out there as something to do.

"Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh and you know the thing about chaos... it's fair."

LOL
this is fantastic

However, I suggest working and then saving the money that way... Cause then extra money will exist

Take me into your heart! Accept me as your savior! Nail me to the -blam!- cross, and let me be reborn!

So, when you go up to the counter and buy the game, you will hand the cashier ALL that change?

But genius idea bro.

I actually did this once, although it was for a brand-new copy of Mass Effect which I bought at GameStop for just $15. I gave him -blam!-loads of dimes, nickels, and pennies. :D

They gave me the day off because I refuse to ever take days off, and apparently there's some New Jersey employee code that could get them in trouble. I'll be back to work on Wednesday, though.

But seriously, just throw in your change from Burger King, and you're one day closer to ODST

Do Not Hesitate, Show No Mercy, Not One Step Back.
Finish It.

Pay in all change, it is funny, believe me.

I tried to smoke some hash, but the corned beef wouldn't light!

I am sure the cashier love all that change, for people who buys the game with a hundred dollar bill :-)

Haha, I've been there. I've payed for things around $20 in all quarters and dimes. They're thrilled.

But, I will take this to the bank on September 21st, and use the free change counter to get the Cash.

I feel like you're messing with me, but...

under the "T" in ODST is Thomas Jefferson, on the $0.05
The largest coin is George Washington, on the $0.25
The smallest coin is Franklin Delano Roosevelt, on the $0.10
And the copper-colored coin is Abraham Lincoln, on the $0.01

EDIT: I only answered this because I felt like it was some sort of test, like, "Americans don't even know who's on their money."

I would but I'm gonna be in line at a midnight release, and I don't want to have to go last out of like, 15-25 people, which is the normal amount of people for midnight releases at my store.

  • 06.08.2009 11:26 AM PDT

It is a great idea but luckily for me I already have about 1,000 dollars from working. By the time ODST comes out I will have more than needed lol.

  • 06.08.2009 11:30 AM PDT

Remember...what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, except herpes, that sh1t'll come back with ya.

haha what a great idea, i already have a bunch of change saved up...TD bank here i come =D

the work thing might be because your not allowed to work full time hours if your under 18, something like that hapenned to me once.

Nah, I'm old enough, it's just something about the amount of time I put in last year or something. I don't know, they didn't really explain it to me.

And to the other guy, I'm sure a lot of us have the money to just buy it. I have the money to buy the Limited Edition, and it wouldn't hurt my finances. This is just more fun, plus, you end up using the 27 cents you got after buying lunch, instead of either putting it on a table in your house, or in another collection bowl

Juzzz is my name, sniping my fame. You cannot aim, its not your team to blame!

*English is my 2nd language, spell check is on but don't blame me on my grammar plz.

hehe nice.

you can go to all your neighbours and ask if they want to donate to the ODST Foundation.. :P

its does not sound as an game :P

at the end of the day you can buy the collectors edition with controller ^^,

  • 06.08.2009 11:52 AM PDT

if knowledge is power and power corrupts, isn't knowledge therefore dangerous?
Black Tower

rather clever.
of course i'm crap with money when a great looking new game is coming out so i wind up buying the collector's ed. with whatever i have on me.

You know, originally, I wasn't going to accept donations, to keep the, "getting closer every day," feel, but you just gave me an idea. I'm going to start up a separate collection bag to put any extra change I get beyond $0.60, and see if I can get closer to the Limited Edition price. I'm not going to ask for donations, but if I get a little more than $0.60 a day, I can put it in there.

Fact 2: European guys are hotter

I guess I can understand if you don't want to make out with guys in the US if they're so ugly, you should just say so though.

He said he already paid this week. I'll just give the cashier a few twenties, when the day comes.

We must be from different time zones.
The calender is actually more of a countdown, like, it might as well say, "106, 105, 104." The dates are there as a frame of reference so that I understand how far ahead or behind I am. This way, I don't end up only making 6 deposits a week or so, and forget one day. I got a head start so that I have some days of slack that I can skip. So basically, the days are only there so I don't end up falling a little behind, and I know where I should be at with my fund.
