Think you can take me in NHL12? Send me a message/invite

It is possible. Has anyone ever experienced traveling back in time? Didn't think so.

The Halo series are SCI-FI games... Science-Fiction... that means they(Bungie) can do whatever they want. Since, there are no aliens called the Covenant, no Master Chief, no UNSC, no Reach, no nothing(Excpet Earth), Bungie can do what they want.

Maybe they have a different idea of time-traveling than the rest of us. Don't throw out any theory's until the game comes out.

EDIT: Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it can't happen. A lot of -blam!- I don't like happens...

Mizzou 2009-2010 Starting Line-up

Point Guard: Zaire Taylor (Senior)
Guard: J.T. Tiller (Senior)
Forward: Kim English (Sophomore)
Forward: Laurence (Junior)
Forward: Keith Ramsey (Senior)

I don't like it because it is way too cliched, and Bungie says so in their Halo 3 Legendary Edition DVD commentary.

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

here is the thing.. bungie has always kept there fiction close to reality to make it beliveable..

the MAC cannons use a system we use today..

the spartan armor is an anciant idea infact weve been working on it in real life..

they keep it with in beliveable reach so people can relate to it..

in order for time travle to work there has to be a time loop.. meaning you will be affected by time travle before any one has time travled yet and then the sence of time is lost and it is hard to tell a story that dosent follow a strait time line..

I've been saying as much for years, in fact it's one of the things i've always liked about Bungie, they don't get too fantastic with their games. Time travel doesn't fit in the Halo universe, it is implausible. There may be time related discretions via slipspace anomolies, but that is in no way time travel.

  • 06.08.2009 11:57 AM PDT

Its a load of crap and it will not have anything to do with the game. Why would there be 2 Cheifs? So you will fight as one MC on the ground and the other MC on the air. Reach was all about finding the spartans and trianing them, then it was about there first monumental mission as super soilders. It not about time travelling and playing as 2 master cheifs. You little kids need to stop dreaming and just be realistic. There is no secert to sand trap or epitaph and there is no time travelling in Reach. Just read the damn book and you will know what the game will be about.

This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

The reason we don't like it is because there are too many paradoxes and would completely alter Halos 1-3. If Bungie implemented time travel then they would have to remake Halos 1-3. Why can't you people understand that?

The MAC Cannons, okay.

Spartan armor is a no. What your seeing is not even close. Now, I'm not saying at Area 51 they aren't working on something similar to it, but the general public has no clue about this.

As for your theory on time travel, if you go back in time, you don't know it because you're back in time. The time loop you speak of does not have to have a loss of time. When the Time Loop breaks, it erases the memory of those who were affected by it. Their memory resets.

Deja Vu is also a clue that a time lapped had happened. Maybe if we play in Flashbacks, MC is experiencing Deja Vu...

... that means they(Bungie) can do whatever they want.

Yeah. I can't argue with that. But if Bungie monitors their threads at all, hopefully they'll see that the general consensus is that time-travel sucks.

And from reading the novels, most can assume that time-travel is unlikely. Sure, it's fiction, and if they want to they could have Sonic and Mario come in from an alternate universe to join the fight. I found an X-Men meets Star Trek novel in the used-bookstore the other day.

Let's hope Bungie values their current success.

We are more then our ranks. We breed battle field Generals! We are the New Spartans! HWP......What is your Profession!!!!?

We won the fight and now we are cleaning up and reestablishing our selves in the galaxy. That is what I think. No time travel. Maybe we will discover something we didn't know about. Maybe the Cov had an natural enemy that we never got a chance to see. Or maybe we learn more about the forerunners. Maybe more then we bargain for! BUT DEF NO TIME TRAVEL!!

  • 06.08.2009 12:11 PM PDT

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

THERE IS NO TIME-TRAVEL!

It would kill off the stories of halos 1, 2, and 3, not to mention bungie doesnt like the idea of time travel at all.

So no, no freakin time travel.

  • 06.08.2009 12:14 PM PDT

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

the time theory no matter how you say it ruins the rest of the story... time travle is a good story plot infact it's a classic... but it's not good for halo.. how about some classic movies like starwars.. if you added time travle into the mix it would completely change the story..

and a time loop is like this.. lets say i just drank a cup of coffie.... now that is part of the past.. but if time travle were involved it could be future present or what ever time loses it's place..

and if there is time travle every thing that allready happend dosent matter...makeing the story a bit dull.

and what do you mean no about the armor? it is an ancient idea and people all over the world are makeing things like it...

sure at the moment we cant make a suit of armor that has shields and super streangth..

but weve allready made suits that give the user unatural streangth..
the japanese have made a suit like this for cripled people.. it allows people in wheel chairs to walk again.. and weve already learned the brains electric signals and have been able to make chips that alow us to control mechanics with our minds...

we arent that far off.. and we know how to make energy shields in theory... it just takes more power than we can muster..

i just think the time travle idea isent meant for halo...time travle is like the force in starwars..to magic baised.. halo is a science fiction not a scifi fantisy..

5904930
221514172782739743980985449859048696947

Siting wikipedia as your source of knowledge removes your credibility, especially on things such as time travel. The problem with time travel is that it follows two distinctive models, a time loop and a linear time line. Different authors and scientists have different takes on each model. Either way you want to play it, there is no way to explain it completely, this is why it does not fit into the Halo universe, it cannot be explained nor justified.

FYI powered exo skeltons are not a new idea, they have been researched since the late 80's in reality and used in science fiction since the early 80's. Yes they are not on par with what you have in Halo, however Halo takes place five hundred years in the future. Again, the advancements in Halo are believable, time travel is not.

Dont care what anyone says. The logic put into the time travel theory is invalid. Does anyone truthfully thinks that bungie would -blam!- up the story to such an extent, that they would implant time travel?

ITS -blam!- STUPID!

Wikipedia is the greatest encyclopedia. That's the brilliance. It allows different authors to put their thoughts together and create the most information possible. You lose all credibility for not even knowing how powerful wikipedia is.

Star Trek did time travel. LOLOLOLOL Ok jk! Really time travel is a wrong idea. So lets make some guesses. What is the right idea people?

Signatures are for squares.

If there is any form of time travel in this game, I won't be buying it.

  • 06.08.2009 1:08 PM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Some points in time are fixed, others are in Flux.

e.g- WWII is a fixed point, the Battle of Reach is a fixed point as it ultimately lead to the discovery of Installation 04.

Juming up and down on the spot is an event in Flux, meaning that it could be changed without any significant timeline damage.

But back on topic, there is no time travel in Halo: Reach. And there never will be, Bungie hate time-travel and the 2 plaets look NOTHING alike.
Reach's sun is blood red, the Legendary Planet's is artificial and blue.
