ok well now i have 2 hour long clips of me beating it when i actually beat it in 26 and 21 minutes.

can i still send in the clip (only 1) even though its a hour long. or do i have to do it a third time to make it show my actual time?

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

It may also mean that if you actually complete the map twice and use both of the games to participate, you are out of the contest. That's what I hope at least, since I (probably) sent two successful entries of Floodgate just to make sure everything was done right =/

I completed the level Halo, 3 times on mythic and sent all three in. But the 2nd and 3rd, I told him that the previous one wasn't going to work and then I finally sent in the correct one. BLOCKED. hopefully not.

Oh, I see. That might be bad. Well, you'll just have to wait for somebody to confirm whether you were disqualified or not. Good luck and so on.

Dont take my word, but if you read Tyrants post when it was on the front of Bungie.net on the top treads stories of the day, it was up on the front page for a good 2 days I would say, he put a good 5 to 6 times of read the rules and dont forget to read the rules and so on, so your guess is as good as mine but read the rules people he posted it about 5 to 6 times in one of the treads so I assuming he has a zero tolerance for people sending him (x) amount of messages (o_O) He did something like this in his tread just for fun The Rules!

Actually, he has some tolerance:

A few of us who have posted on previous pages of this thread, myself included, sent two private messages (having suspected a problem with their first private message). Private messages can be previewed but there's no way of checking them once they have been sent.

Will the second private message count if everything was correct, even if the first message sent was incorrect? Or will anybody in this situation be disqualified?

Also, if there is additional text in the private message, e.g. "Hello here is my video", could this cause a problem?

I haven't counted it against anyone yet. Probably safe to bet that I won't in the future. The only ones that don't get entered into the database apart from having a legal Mythic Floodgate run are the ones that either don't contain hyperlinks, or the ones who are extremely lazy and just told me to look into their file share... >_> Really... like I'm really going to set aside an extra 3 minutes per person because they were too lazy to copy, paste, and insert . lol.

What we don't know for sure is whether or not you'll be disqualified if you enter two or more separate games, or as in my case, post two successful entries of the same game.

Here's the answer:

For future reference, don't do it. While it's easy for me to tell who has already entered and who hasn't. It's still a pain to have to go back and check. This is time I could be using to process more entries. In most cases, if the first entry is correct, I disregard any additional entries/messages that the contestant sends afterwards.

I will, however, state that I've hada couple of cases where a player submitted over a dozen entries to the same competition. Even worse, they were all done incorrectly despite the directions being plastered all over the place. It grew to a point where I came to beliewve that these particular people were intentionally trying to be a nuissance and earned themselves a perma-block.

In short, I would appretiate only one submission per person. It makes my life easier and gives me more time to work on additional guides as well as answering questions posted on the forums.

Thanks for the info, Tyrant. I haven't tried your 2.0 strategy for Storm yet but look forward to that. if it's as reliable as the Wraith does on Storm I'll love it!

I know we're all looking forward to hearing the results from Floodgate. We'll watch this space.

Ok not sure if it helps but if you do except it then i will also send along some screenshots with my (unfortunatly long) film to prove that i beat it in the 26 minute time space i said earlier.

Love this challenge, it's great to see a lot of people working toward accomplishing this game on Mythic. Big thanks to Tyrant and Bungie for supporting it, too.

I know everyone is anxious to hear the Floodgate winner, but since Tyrant had to submit the db to Bungie for selection, I would imagine that Bungie is going to take time to verify the film of the winner, and reference them against the "Recon Ban" list. Notification will take time, remember, they are very busy cranking out some awesome in the form of ODST and Reach right now. Give some time.

Hoopajoop

I received my Halo 3 Recon armor on 8-3-09 for completing Sierra 117 on Mythic Difficulty through the Summer Mythic Recon Challenge.

Quick question:

In my submission to Tyrant for Floodgate, I used a "Named Hyperlink" to my fileshare movie. Is this acceptable? The link directs to the same place, it just says "Link to my Floodgate run movie" or something like that? I hope it's ok, I'd hate for the easiest level be disqualified from the challenge for a small technicallity like that.

Try sending it in a message to Tyrant122312. He will be the won entering you into the contest. Make sure to include your hyperlink.

As long as the hyperlink worked, then it was acceptable. Don't sweat it. But it may also take a little while before they choose a winner; let alone tell us who won.

I dont think Tyrant or anyone anticipated this Summer Mythic Challenge would grow to be this big (well that is what I think anyway)

It might be a little over whelming with all the messages he has been getting trying to pick from the right messages and wrong messages

The "Halo" mythic mission?

 • 06.23.2009 1:38 AM PDT

Why Hello There ;D

If you view the first Summer Mythic Recon Challenge thread, they only have about 150 replies.
This thread has about 650 replies.
That is 5x [plus 50] replies over the first one. So you can bet that it has become more of a hassle to Tyrant. If you ask me, I think the best time to have done the challenge was in the first mission. I also believe the best time to complete the challenge is in the 10th raffle, and the very last mission.

My only question is that:
If you did not enter your floodgate video, will you still be eligible for the 10th raffle if you complete it before the 10th raffle comes.

not 100% sure but i think as long as you beat all the missions on mythic and hyperlink correctly before the tenth raffle ends then you are eligible

@SMG
Floodgate

Also I think we only get a week per level tosubmit, not the length of time between now and the final level.

A stated by Tyrant in the rules:

Q) How long will each competition last?
A) Approximately 7 days

-and-

Q) Can I do/submit the mission early/late other than the 7 days assigned?
A) No.

Meaning each level is considered a separate competition and the 10th raffle is for those who complete all challenges for each week, or if you got them all done by June 14th.

Lol. I entered Floodgate last week my concern was that I used a "named hyperlink" instead of just the hyperlinked URL and whether that was ok or not. I'm not concerned with the entry date lol.

(url) <-- Doesn't work. I had a few people try to send links this way. It just comes out as a string of babbling text and a broken URL. Use the format I instructed you to use and you'll be fine. Why try to bend the rules if you are going to go to all the trouble to do the Mythic missions anyway?

To the named-hyperlink question. That is fine as long as the link works. All I'm looking to do is click on some sort of hyperlink that takes me directly to the file in your file share.

For the 10th raffle question. The replies you have been getting are correct. Do the challenges as they come if you want in. No sooner. No later. Your chance to complete Floodgate for the challenge has expired. You now have eight opportunities to score Recon.
