Subject: No "One Gun To Rule Them All" PLEASE

-BRW

That does get old with my one friend who every time I kill him with something other than a BR or Sniper he calls it a nub gun. That gets annoying because they're all available to everyone...isn't the goal of a shooter to engage when you have the upper hand? Not to make everything equal all the time...superior firepower is desirable in real-life combat and should be in Halo as well...if you can get a kill with a Rocket, an SMG or whatever, then do so, use the guns as they were meant to be used! Don't just focus on one!

I find that Halo 3 has some of the best weapon balancing out there. While there are definately weapons used more than others, it's not USE THIS OR YOU LOSE kinda stuff

I use all weapons but I do find myself using the AR and BR way too much.

The entire series was dominated by the mid range weapons, so I guess it would be a nice change of pace.

It's like a retard riding a bicycle while eating hot wings.
Sometimes you have to take the bike seat off to really enjoy it.

I see nothing wrong with the weapons. What I see wrong is making those weapons extremely powerful.

I agree 95% with what you are saying. While you want no brs or Carbines, I do. But I want them to be balanced.

I also do not want Human weapons to over power the Covenant weapons.

Actually, yes, if they made the BR or Carbine take much longer to deplete shields, then players would be forced to diversify (like combining the Plasma Rifle, and the BR, to put down the enemy faster.) The 4 shot makes combinations like this unnecessary. This would work also, good thinking.

This is not a good idea.

Halo 3 is slower paced than halo 2 and it still has a battle rifle.

Now with your suggestion the gameplay is going to come to a standstill.

Take a look at guardian team slayer with no battle rifles. If you spawn in blue you have plasma rifle shotgun maybe even hammer. Because their is only one br everyone must hide from the onslaught of nades going into these areas. Also the use of close quarter weapons means few areas of a map can be used because good parts of the map are out of range for this weapon.

So now we have a gameplay that is based off of camping and waiting out the other team halo SHOULD not go in this direction.

"Will snipe for food"

After somethought and play in Halo 3, it occured to me that most of the maps are geared for mid range combat in general. Either way ive always felt the maps had something to do with the dominance of a particular weapon set more than anything. Sandtrap against a team with a good sniper is a nightmare.

OOC: nature is fuking ghey

I disagree. There needs to be mid-ranged weapons of some kind.

I disagree. First off, a Mid ranged weapon is not only necessary, it's imperative.

Also there were always ways to kill a person with a BR, you just had to out play them.
