Everyone's main argument as to why ODSTs shouldn't be able to rip out turrets and carry them around is that a Spartan even has trouble with it, right?

Well here's what I think. I don't think that a Spartan would really have any trouble with it, but rather that they were made to walk slow to make the game more fair. If you had a bunch of Spartans running around at NORMAL speed with turrets there would be no more use for other weapons. Also, the reason that I believe Spartans wouldn't really have to walk that slow is the fact that they can flip 10+ ton Wraiths/Scorpions, carrying around a 500 pound turret wouldn't be too hard.

So if ODSTs can carry around turrets but walk slow there's nothing wrong with that.

Anyways that's just what I think.

Obviously you're a Bungie fanboy. Let me explain things to you in your "native language":

"SPARTANS ARE STRONG AND STUFF, THEY CAN HAS MOBILE TURRETS"

"NOW REGULAR HUMANS ARE STRONG AND STUFF, THEY CAN HAS MOBILE TURRETS TOO EVEN THOUGH IT MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!"

Two makes there more than speakers.

Even then who would place the turret where it is so it seems okay that they can hold it.. (Definatly not Master Cheif. He is on vacation.)

Spartans can flip ELEPHANTS!!!!111eleven!1@#34!#% It makes no sense that any gun should have any noticeable recoil at all (SMG) but there is because there is. I honestly think the only reason that spartans slowed down was because of the way they carried them. Honestly you would kick whatever you were holding if you went too fast while holding it like they hold it. One handed wouldn't work because you couldn't really aim and you couldn't probably sit the turret on your shoulder without moving your face first.

Okay Okay here is the reason everyone is hating that ODSTs can carry turrets.
Turrest are heavy. ODST =/= spartans. ODST are strong but not super strong. ODST shouldn't be able to carry a turret based on TODAYS(!) turrets. I'm sure over 500 years the UNSC will help lighten up the turrets and subdue their recoil but I'm not sure that would be enough.

The only reason they let ODST carry turrets is strictly for gameplay purposes.

Also turrets suck, who cares?

Yeah. I'm back. Whatcha gonna do about it?

Honestly I agree with you, but for another reason.

A spartan would move slower for accuracy I think, not fairness. You can't go sprinting with a gun, holding the trigger down, and intend to hit anything in particular.

A human could hold the turret as well, difference is that they move slower because of the weight. Not really the accuracy.

Think of it this way... a person who can only bench 150lbs could carry something weighing 300lbs. Can they lift it above their heads, probably not.

So far I've only seen the turret in Firefight, so it might be exclusive to only that, so then it would make sense just cause then they're givin you more help with the baddies

Erm, Firefight is probably non-canon, so it shouldn't really matter.

Looking back, I realize how much of an annoying little kid I was. Sorry guise.

The game wouldn't be fun if everybody ran around with no recoil and the ability to kill people in one melee attack. Thus such limitations are important to improve gameplay for everyone.

Sorry for the late reply, I was eating.

Anyways, I'm just saying that Spartans were only slowed down for gameplay purposes. Otherwise I'm pretty sure they'd be sprinting with turrets.

Secondly, ODSTs are the next best thing to Spartans. I'm pretty sure they'd be able to haul around a 500 lbs or so turret. It's not like they're Colonial Militia or something.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

The rules of gameplay do not equal Halo canon. They never have. No point even thinking about how an ODST can carry a turret or why a Spartan is so slow beyond that it is a gameplay decision.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite airstrike.

The turrets are shipped in cases and in multiple parts. It can be divided up into the three barrels, the muzzel guard, the firing mechanism, the ammo crate and the tripod (that itself would be collapsable or in multiple parts). Said crate would have to be carried by at least two infantrymen. The turret case can be found on Highground, above the medical bay I think, and its foam inserts are shaped around the differet turret components.
