Subject: Legendary ending IS REACH- No Timetravel, No Master Chief

Eat it

Simple theory:

In the legendary ending after the Chief goes into hibernation, the screen cuts to black and all music/sound stops. This represents a stop in the story- simply a transition from the ending of Halo 3, to the teaser to Bungie's next game, Halo: Reach. After the cut to black, the teaser for Reach begins, showing a damaged UNSC vessel floating outside the planets orbit. No time-travel, no connection to Master Chief at all. It is simply a symbolic reference to bridge the stories.

Case closed.

I doubt they already had Halo Reach all planned out almost 2 years ago : /

All of the Halo games were in production for over 2 years, why would this one be different? Usually, as a developer, you have plans for multiple projects at the same time, even if you're only currently working on one. It's a good development strategy.

Why don't people just look

In Halo: Reach, the blockbuster prequel to the Halo trilogy, experience the events that transpired on the planet Reach. Created by acclaimed developer Bungie, Halo: Reach will be available in the fall of 2010 exclusively on Xbox 360. As a bonus for Halo fans, Halo 3: ODST will be the key to entry for the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta coming to Xbox LIVE.

Prequel to Halo trilogy. PREQUEL.

Duh, of course it's a prequel. I think YOU are the one not reading- all I'm saying is that the very end of the Legendary ending is a teaser for Halo: Reach. It has no relation to the Halo 3 story or the Halo 3 legendary ending (Chief going into hibernation)- it is only tied together through a symbolic reference of a destroyed UNSC vessel floating in space.

It's not that hard, kiddos- I said, "simple theory".

Halo Reach is a prequel to the original Halo game. Not a sequel or trequel.

So when he crashes into the planet what? he just dies and there is no story what so ever? i mean they show the ship floating towards the planet, its going to fall . .

"We sleep peaceably in our beds, because rough men stand ready to visit violence upon those that wish to do us harm."

"Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of all those who threaten them."

I doubt it, because that would make it the absolute worst teaser ever. No one even knew it was a teaser...If it was a teaser they would have made an announcement.

At 6:56 the screen goes black and remains so for about 10 seconds. How is that not leaving the screen?

It's not Marathon and it may be Reach. Why would Bungie connect Marathon and Halo anyways? Marathon ended completely from Bungie in the 90s. Master Chief will be in a game and I believe the planet is Reach being rebuilt from Forerunner sentinels or crap.

Hound, your theory is bad. It seems you just made a theory to make this thread.

Sentinels wouldn't rebuild Reach, nor do I think they could. What Reach needs isn't landmass, but atmosphere.

It's not bad- it's simple, and it works. Not some crazy wacko theory about time travel and -blam!-.

Actually, you do. And, an eclipse wouldn't cause different colors.

You don't build the greatest 'anything' by winging it at the last minute. Much of what Bungie will build in the future had been, thoughtfully, planned out years in the past.
