Yea but Bungie gave HALO IP to M$ for the sole purpose of "independence" and then continues to make HALO games and rakes in money through shady M$ business practice then tells us oops sorry were not in control we just make the games M$ wants to overcharge you for. If you are either rich or stupid enough to pay $30 for maps and H3MM you already have then by all means do so. What all you rich or more likely stupid ass tools need to do is stop bashing people with differing opinions.

Yea O.K. I will stop "bashin" on Bungie because you made a topic about it..........Just as soon as you stop making topics which amounts to a waste of funkIn space.

ANyways, what ever anyone says, I'll likely buy the game if most of the compitent community says it's worth it (and i'm still open to the possiblity that $60 is overpriced). But the game's not out yet. And until then, I'm not going to judge.

This may sound weird, but if it was less than the price of a regular game, I'd have my doubts about picking it up. Although I loved EDF, it really was only worth the discount price, this has enough content, and a proven gameplay to hold it on its own.

I have to agree with you on that part. I've seen games around 20 to 30 dollars and I stayed away from them because I thought they probably sucked. lol

but we're halo fans. I'll pick up a copy of pretty much anything with a halo label on it. (all 3 games, halo wars and borrowed the books from the library)

I don't wanna pay more than full price for it because we'd really just being paying for campaign, new multi maps and firefight. I think 40 dollars is a better price but I won't even be able to play the game because i never have time for xbox during the fall at college, at least thats how it was last year.

You just got Shakespeared!

If I know its good then I don't really care what the price if I have the money.

Lots of people are getting angry at Bungie for the $59.99 price of Halo 3: ODST.

The Short, Sweet, and Simple Answer

Bungie has no say when it comes to price of the game.
Microsoft does all the pricing. They decide the price.
Blame Microsoft.

Bungie even said that if they could price the game, they would make it around $40.00!

(I actually have no problem with the price. I think it will be worth it).

Typical. "Oh, it's not us that wants to charge exorbitant fees for our products, it's the company that we bought our freedom from!
But MS owns Halo. This is a Halo game. Bungie only makes it. Think of them as a private military company hired to kill someone the owner liked. He doesn't WANT to kill him, but he's not in control of it.

@"Power"

They didn't buy back the halo franchise, I doubt microsoft would have even sold it. They are now their own studio again, no longer part of microsoft, but MS is still publishing the game. Do you know the difference?

Ignorant much?

I speak the tru7h. Bungie has no rights when it comes to pricing.

"Oh, hey, guys! We made enough profits from Halo 3 to buy our freedom back from Microsoft!"

"Erm... yeah, sorry, guys. We don't want to charge for this map pack, but you know, Microsoft and all.."

"Sorry that this expansion pack is going to cost as much as a full game. It's Microsoft.."

Please tell me how that makes sense.
BUNGIE DOESN'T OWN HALO!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for that... NOT!

Hey donut fun or whatever your name is...YOU are the one that's ignorant. What I said is all true. I'm sorry you can't handle the truth. Have fun paying an extra $30 for content you already own.

Bungie did not "buy back" HALO IP. It belongs to M$ now and forever.......

Not arguing, but when did Bungie buy back the Halo rights or franchise?

I don't think they did. I think Microsoft just allowed them to make more Halo games.

We're all going to hell we may as well (GO OUT IN STYLE)! /// Diamond's Aren't Forever -- Bring Me The Horizon.

I can "bash" on Bungie about the price all I want. Nothing you can say can stop me. I honestly think it's retarded.

Halo 3: ODST is an expansion pack. It only has a 3-5 hours campaign. Bungie has told me that. Also Firefight is a new mode. So I'm paying 60 bucks for these two things and 3 maps...

I don't understand why Bungie cannot just sell the first disk. The second disk is completely useless to me. I have Halo 3 and all the map packs up to date. Bungie decides to include everything that I bought and sell it to me again. And it's not just me. It's thousands of people. So now I pay 60 dollars for this bull -blam!- expansion pack. Those map packs costed me 2400 microsoft points.

Bungie is greedy.

Well, at least until another huge franchise tops Halo. It has happened before, it will no doubt happen again.

I'm going to buy the game because like some others have said previous to my post, the game has a boatload of content. New maps, campaign, and a whole new perspective on Halo as a game. Sixty bucks isn't that much considering the amount of gameplay one will obtain from the disc.

Or they could do two versions of Halo: ODST.
-one that comes only with the new campaign, firefight, etc
-and one that comes with the new Halo 3 maps, so people without live can have them too.

Didn't I just say that. They could just sell the first disk. It's such a simple thing and Bungie must have thought of that. Instead they decide instead to make more money. They're greedy but everyone follows them.

Don't get me wrong folks, I am truly excited about ODST and especially REACH!!!!! But the thing is I'm not gonna pay an extra 30 spot for content I already own just because M$ is feeling greedy about it. I can beat campaign in 4-6 hours try firefight to see if it is any good
(I don't particularly care for AI bot MP) and save $45 while I do it.

Wrong. First, they CAN stop you, via the Banhammer. Second, you're also buying the Halo: Reach beta. Third, they expanded the campaign. Fourth, you're buying 1000 GS. Fifth, you're buying Recon. Sixth, the Maps come on Disk 2. Seven7h, it will also allow someone with a damaged disk that won't load maps to play them. So, your argument is fail.

Seriously folks how hard would it have been for ODST Disc1 to be on XBLMP. I would pay 2400 M$ points for it without hesitation. Instead M$ chooses to repackage H3MM with all but 3 maps I already own so they can squueze $60 instead of $30 from loyal fans.

Why is it that everytime someone makes a helpful or good opinionative post about Bungie, people go to the coclusion that they're trying to get Recon?

I'm not trying to get Recon! Besides, it'd be stupid for me to try! I've been EXP banned before. I have to wait until ODST to get Recon.
