I only paid for the Legendary map pack and got Heroic for free and Mythic for free so I'm probably gaining, if anything.

No Mythic wasn't free! You bought an RTS game to get the maps. Tell me did you pay extra for new "gametypes" on HALOWARS?

I got Halo Wars for Halo Wars. Considering I'm a big fan of RTS, I got it for the game. The maps were a free addition.

And I didn't pay for the new gametypes because the price is rediculous.

I like RTS games too. I can't stand em on consoles though.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

That's funny how you call me an idiot while you plan on paying $30 extra for stuff you already own.

Your smack talk skills are weak son.

As far as being bullied goes I rolled with about 40 other people in school and I was the leader. So do the math

Rolled? Leader? haha. Oh man, kid, I did the math. I came up with 39 morons who "follow" a bigger one.

This is basically a full single player experience. And don't give any of that, "But Bungie said it was 3-5 hours" because that has changed. They said so themselves that they just kept adding things on as they went. On top of that there is an all new co-op mode with unlimited replay ability because the waves never end and 3 new maps (10 dollars alone).

Tell me little guy, did you do the math on all the new things you get with this game? It more than justifies my hard earned 60 bucks. Maybe even 100 since I could use a new controller.

The simplicity saves it. And being good at it helps.

  • 06.08.2009 6:25 PM PDT

It's not Hip-Hop, its Electro.... prick.

I know right... it's worth it anyway. ODST is gonna be a kick-ass game so I'm willing to pay 60.00 for it

ODST was pretty much finished when the announcements came. So unless you don't own HALO 3 it can be considered a full game. If you do own H3 like 99.9% of people on B.net then you will pay $60 for an expansion. $30 of that is going towards H3MM and maps. SO re-do your math and tell me why you want to pay $30 for stuff you already own???

The only reason this thread is still going is because people are by far the most idiotic creatures ever, based solely on the fact that even -blam!- squirrels know when enough is enough, when things should stop, when it's time o just get up and leave.

Frankly? WHO CARES ABOUT THE PRICE OF A VIDEO GAME. Everyone arguing for the game will buy it at some point, this isn't guaranteed, but I'm pretty damn sure of this. Half of the people arguing against ODST's price will buy it as well, because even if they don't LIKE the price they're weak minded idiots who can't resist a good game to support their 'morals.'

Seriously, stop complaining about the 30 or so dollars extra you're paying for a game which is almost guaranteed to be good and complain about something important, like the prices for simple medical procedures. Did you know a MRI costs around $2000? They put you in a little machine and scan you, and then they make the images and show you what they found. 2000 DOLLARS! Complain about that instead please.

Coming here on B.Net trying to kick some psyche only works with a few people so give it up. What the funk would I need an MRI for? This is ODST forums not Mayo Clinic Forums.

New multiplayer wouldn't make it a full game. If that's what you think then your more thick headed than I imagined. Bioshock, a game most would agree is pretty damn good, was single player only. Not very long either and had no unlimited co-op, or any co-op. I'm pretty sure that was 60 bucks too. How is that a justified purchase and not ODST?

The point is that they claim "Microsoft sets the pricing". Why not own up to the fact that your company is greedy?

You're right, the company that owns the Halo IP is greedy, because they know that it'll sell because of its fan base. So because of this the company currently making ODST is loading in all of the content so people without Live have the chance to experience the new maps. They also seem to be making a quality game despite it being considered a "expansion." But to make the game more interesting the company that is making the game is including an extra game play mode just for kicks.

So can you tell me which company is which? I'll give you a hint the one that makes the game runs the show here and the one that sets the price is publishing the game on the 360.

See I can be a sarcastic bastard too. Microsoft sets the prices, it's been stated over and over again both by forum goers and Bungie themselves. Pull your head out of your ass and listen for once.

I rented Bio-Shock as well. Excellent game I might add. Adding in survival/horde doesn't make this a "full game"

Fair enough. Would it have been a buy if it had multiplayer?

Completely agree with you. Most times I buy the Limited Edition of Halo games. For me it will be nice to just buy a Halo game at the regular price.

Bioshock should only be a single player game, tbh.

Lots of people are getting angry at Bungie for the $59.99 price of Halo 3: ODST.

The Short, Sweet, and Simple Answer

Bungie has no say when it comes to price of the game.
Microsoft does all the pricing. They decide the price.
Blame Microsoft.
Bungie even said that if they could price the game, they would make it around $40.00!

(I actually have no problem with the price. I think it will be worth it).

Typical. "Oh, it's not us that wants to charge exorbitant fees for our products, it's the company that we bought our freedom from!

Ignorant much?

I speak the tru7h. Bungie has no rights when it comes to pricing.

"Oh, hey, guys! We made enough profits from Halo 3 to buy our freedom back from Microsoft!"

"Erm... yeah, sorry, guys. We don't want to charge for this map pack, but you know, Microsoft and all.."

"Sorry that this expansion pack is going to cost as much as a full game. It's Microsoft.."

Please tell me how that makes sense.

I agree, but that's not the point I'm getting at. I'm trying to see if the only reason it's not worth the 60 bucks to him is because it doesn't have new multiplayer because I can't see any other reason why 60 dollars isn't justified.

/facepalm. No, it wasn't. It's still in the final stages, and it is a 4-7 hr game.

I believe I would pay full retail price if it had an MP. The other thing is replayability. ODST seems too cut and dry for RP Factor. I will rent ODST and if I am floored by firefight (I do admit AI BOT vs MP does not generally excite me) I will buy it. I know I am being hard-nosed about this issue but the fact is I want to OWN ODST. I just can't bring myself to pay $30 extra for H3MM I already own and play regularly. ODST price might not seem so bad but the fact remains I bought all 3 map packs to date on the days of release because of my love for Bungie/Halo. Now I have to Buy H3MM and maps all over again to play ODST. As soon as Bungie makes the contents of disc 1 DLC I will STFU about this issue. But until then the lines have been drawn and the die is cast.

Just throwing my opininion here. If you have the achivevments for Halo 3, why not sell it.
It's gonna rake in about $40 CAN. I will do that.

I totally, agree. Last time I checked all NEW Xbox 360 games were $60. And last time I checked Halo 3 ODST is a game. It is a freestanding game. Just because there is no matchmaking doesn't mean that its not. Sure the campaign branches off of Halo 2 but it also has firefight and a full 1000GS, so stop complaining about the price because it's not going to change.
