Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

I believe I would pay full retail price if it had an MP. The other thing is replayability. ODST seems too cut and dry for RP Factor. I will rent ODST and if I am floored by firefight (I do admit AI BOT vs MP does not generally excite me) I will buy it. I know I am being hard-nosed about this issue but the fact is I want to OWN ODST. I just can't bring myself to pay $30 extra for H3MM I already own and play regularly. ODST price might not seem so bad but the fact remains I bought all 3 map packs to date on the days of release because of my love for Bungie/Halo. Now I have to Buy H3MM and maps all over again to play ODST. As soon as Bungie makes the contents of disc 1 DLC I will STFU about this issue. But until then the lines have been drawn and the die is cast.

Ok. I see far more replay ability with it than you do. Also, judging by the fact that some of the previews I've read about Firefight say how hard it is and that it could be endless fun, I'm convinced. I also put less value on multiplayer than you, so that's another area we differ in opinion. (By the way, I've also bought all the DLC so far, but I see more worth in what we're getting than you)

I may not agree with you on your stance, but that's your opinion. If you can express it without sounding like a whiny little kid, it makes it easier to listen. Thanks for at least doing that....finally. haha.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Why the hell is everyone trying to convince their opposition that their own personal sense of worth is incorrect? That is the only stupid thing in this entire thread. Everyone decides what the game is worth to them. Some will buy it, some will rent it, and some will never play it. Why the hell do you all find the need to force your opinion on others?

Me gusta

I think the price is fine because there is sooo much awesomeness in one disc!!!

  • 06.08.2009 6:51 PM PDT

Here are good reasons

1. Expansion-30$

2. New maps plus intergrated ones-10$

3.Recon-5$

4.Firefight- Amazing- 15$

15+5+10+30

End of case to those whinners who are like"I'm chea...I mean poor to afford a game when they have a 360 + TV. Take that cheap bastards =)

I'm sorry to say even though your logic is undeniable people will still make sad threads whining about it. We try to explain it to them but they simply don't get it.

The only reason Firefight will get hard is because the skulls will become active. Bungie AI is better than most games but in todays games that isn't saying much. In the end people will get owned by skull enabled near invincible AI Brutes. It's like Horde except FF will use skulls to kick up the pace. Having to unload 3 or 4 mags worth of ammo into a Brute in order to kill it does not appeal to me. Neither does fighting Campaign BOTS in any survival mode for the most part. Mindless zombies are excusable though.

Well, you aren't even this game's target demographic then, anyways, and therefor they should ignore you anyways.

I've been playing Halo since 2002. My earliest memories include hiding at the shotgun window on Damnation and killing my dad with grenades while playing co-op on Pillar of Autumn.

This is all Stosh's fault.

So what you are saying is , you just love the easy things don't you? No interesting fights what so ever? That deserves a really big YAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNNN.

No. Interest or ease has nothing to do with how I feel about Survival games. I hate having to shoot a Brute 120 times to kill it because of some magic skull trick. The day AI bots become "smart" is the day I will embrace SURVIVAL MODE games. Hey Firestar!!! Do you got a crush on me or something???

Lots of people are getting angry at Bungie for the $59.99 price of Halo 3: ODST.

The Short, Sweet, and Simple Answer

Bungie has no say when it comes to price of the game.
Microsoft does all the pricing. They decide the price.
Blame Microsoft.

Bungie even said that if they could price the game, they would make it around $40.00!

(I actually have no problem with the price. I think it will be worth it).

Typical. "Oh, it's not us that wants to charge exorbitant fees for our products, it's the company that we bought our freedom from!

I can't wait until you get banned...

Oh, yes. Ban the intelligent one! Ban him before he spreads the truth! Stone him until he cannot speak, then deliver a final, crushing blow with the mighty banhammer!

It is sad but thats how alot of people roll on B.net. Don't like what that one says BANZORZ!!!!
The mods/Bungie for the most part aren't like that. They are Big Boys who can take criticism. Go to EPIC boards and complain. See what happens.

dead mans loyalty

1: 60 dollars is the price for most new games
2: its bargain cuz it also includes legendary and mythic map packs
3: bungie is probably getting annoyed by your comments about the price so
4: just be quiet about it and leave bungie alone they have enough on their hands

$60? Where's my wallet. I'll pay that.

  • 06.08.2009 7:34 PM PDT

This is how I came to the price of $60 dollars for ODST. $40 for the expansion, $20 for the halo 3 multiplayer. Makes perfect sense.

I can "bash" on Bungie about the price all I want. Nothing you can say can stop me. I honestly think it's retarded.

Halo 3: ODST is an expansion pack. It only has a 3-5 hours campaign. Bungie has told me that. Also Firefight is a new mode. So I'm paying 60 bucks for these two things and 3 maps...

I don't understand why Bungie cannot just sell the first disk. The second disk is completely useless to me. I have Halo 3 and all the map packs up to date. Bungie decides to include everything that I bought and sell it to me again. And it's not just me. It's thousands of people. So now I pay 60 dollars for this bull -blam!- expansion pack. Those map packs costed me 2400 microsoft points.

Bungie is greedy.
Wrong. First, they CAN stop you, via the Banhammer. Second, you're also buying the Halo: Reach beta. Third, they expanded the campaign. Fourth, you're buying 1000 GS. Fifth, you're buying Recon. Sixth, the Maps come on Disk 2. Seven7h, it will also allow someone with a damaged disk that won't load maps to play them. So, your argument is fail.
Bungie can stop me. You on the otherhand cannot and that was directed towards to OP for trying to make an argument.

Halo 3 Beta free. Completely free. You don't pay to be in a beta.

Okay. Yah. 3-5 hours worth of campaign. That's not worth a 60 dollar price tag.

You don't buy achievements. Those come with a game and you unlock them.

I'm not buying recon. It's an armor permutation inside a game that I must unlock. I'm not even going to unlock it actually.

Okay... why am I paying for something I already have? The only new things are the 3 new maps... why couldn't those just be put on the first disk so I'm not paying for 3 map packs that I already payed for and halo 3 multiplayer that I've already bought for them.

You're arguement blows. You're a Bungie fanboy. No matter what I say you will continue to follow Bungie with blind devotion. Have fun with your life. I hope you don't do the same thing in the real world when you get there. You act like your younger than eighteen but I could be wrong and you're just childish.
You may have to pay to be in a beta, depending on the Beta. It was extended FROM 3-5 hours to 4-6! They may have worked Achievements into the price. You are buying the ability to get it. here, for you:

Campaign: $20 USD
Firefight: $20
MMP 2: $10
Beta: $5
All Achievements, including Recon earning vidmasters: $5.

Total: $60.
Being pwned? Priceless.
Being "pwned" (or so the "pwner" thinks) Priceless.

Snake runner makes since.. and how do you know you don't pay for achievements?Maybe you do and you don't know? Since when have you set up the price on a game?

"YOUR DESTRUCTION IS THE WILL OF THE GODS, AND WE ARE THEIR INSTRUMENT."

Woot, ruined the 117 posts! Anyways, i think this game's deserving of 60, though i was hoping for 40.

It actually explains it going from $50-$55 to $60.
