The balancing would be difficult, and it might make the game into a fast Unreal Tournament kind of game - I wouldn't like that. The two games do bear specific similarities including pace, but somehow Halo seems more organised and thoughtful/tactical.
That said, Reach's multiplayer might be altered slightly with the option for third-person, or faction-based teams over long periods of point-capture? A sort of Territories game with an appointed team-leader and a less frivolous and frantic rush to the first base.
