Subject: a continuation of Halo 3?

I just started a new clan called stealth image. If you would like to join contact me via XBL. Oh yea, one more thing. KE4P IT CL3EN

Ok I think that the planet shown in the trailer must be the one from the H3 ending because how could Bungie leave such a huge cliffhanger at the end of Halo 3 and NOT make the next Halo game a continuation of that.

AND, in the motto, they say "from the beginning, you know the end". If that were true, they are saying the END would be halo 3, and the beginning would be Reach. How could Halo 3 be the ending...it didnt even really have an ending just a huge cliffhanger.

All three of the games ended in cliffhangers. It's just Bungie's style i guess

Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo

It's a good assumption but, well never really know until we play the game. For example almost everyone thought in the first Halo 3 trailer that that thing that opened up was the Ark, when it was a actually just a portal to there. We were close but, not quite there. Same thing goes for this, maybe it is the planet at the end of 3, or maybe it's just a bit to obvious for it to be.

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

You might find this useful.

Because Cliffhangers make a game/story/movie memorable, and give people the opportunity for future expansion.

It's a prequel, that's pretty much a given, and set around the fact of Halo: Fall of Reach. A battle that we know ends in the destruction of millions if not billions of Humans. From the beginning of the game we know how the game will end.

Signatures are for squares.

It is confirmed to be a prequel.

The planet in the Halo 3 ending is covered in Forerunner glyphs, and orbits a blue star.

The planet in the trailer (Reach) was glassed just before the events of Halo: CE, and orbits a yellow-orange star, Epsilon Eridani.

The motto "From the beginning, you know the end" means that we have known how this game will end up since the events of Halo: CE, the spartans will die.

However, we do not know much about this time period besides Eric Nylund's Book, and that is what this game will explore, the war against the covenant pre-halo, culminating with the battle of reach.

...Just a thought, didn't Chief get his shielded armor just before the battle of reach?

...Oh dear.

reach is a prequel game, not a sequel. i believe halo "4" will come out at some point, but halo reach is like halo zero

heres hoping halo: onyx follows up :) Spartan III FTW

Spartans don't die, they're just missing in action.

I guess everybody beat me to it.

Yes, it's a prequel, set around the time where the book Halo: Fall of Reach is set, which is most likely going to take place on the planet itself, where the hard, long, epic war will ensue.

The halo games seem to go completely out of order, quite like Star Wars.
The series, in order, should probably go something like this: Marathon, Marathon 2, Halo:Reach, Halo 3:ODST, Halo:Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and then Halo 3.

Not so sure about Marathon, but there's definitely enough proof that Marathon had some definite relations to the Halo series, even though it was never really confirmed by Bungie.

Either way, Bungie, we still love you.

ya know, im proud to be an inverted player, its like we're a rare breed or something

Do NOT send me Recruitment Letters, doing so will get you blocked faster than you can say "Huh?"

By the from the beginning you know the end thing. They mean that you know Reach is going to get destroyed.

Actually, if you're counting the Marathon games (though Bungie confirmed both are seperate universes), the order would be (including Halo Wars):

Halo Wars
Halo: Reach
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
(Missions Heretic-Oracle)
Halo 3: ODST
Halo 2
(Missions Delta Halo-Great Journey)
Halo 3
Marathon
Marathon 2: Durandal
Marathon: Infinity

Reach gets glassed.
Planet at the end of halo 3 seems full of cities.
Its not a coincidence that books on the forunners come out this year and next year, specifically noticible that they come out AFTER halo 3.

Halo Reach takes place just before Master Chief flees on the pillar of autumn. That would be where the triliogy begins.
