How come people can't understand that calling people "cheap" doesn't actually negate the argument?
It's like saying "If you think the movie sucks then don't watch it", you saying that doesn't negate the fact that the movie sucks...it's just an excuse to sidestep the issue and prevent yourself from actually forming a legit argument.
It's not about the money, I have the money, it's about principle...about not being a tool.
Your effectively paying for a multiplayer you already have, a Survival mode that you can only play if you happen to have friends on call at the same time you want to play(not often or not at all), and a 3-5 hour campaign that you can complete by renting it. Also consider this is an expansion of a two year old game. This leaves us with the Beta but you don't factor Betas/Demos into pricing and the second Map Pack...which might be worth 10USD if you plan on playing in the DLC playlist and maps are good.

But I bought Halo3 because of the campaign, I wasn't given option to not pay for the rest.
We buy ODST because of something, we aren't given an option to not pay for the rest.
That's a good analogy you've made. Unfortunately it can't be justly compared to the situation at hand. You see, Halo 3 didn't have any thing from Halo 2. ODST, however, does. I understand that *perhaps* the game is worth 60$ by itself (without Halo 3's multiplayer or the maps held accountable for part of its price) but like you stated, all we know right now are guesses. However, so far it is my understanding that we are in fact paying for a recycled game, or at least a portion of it. Here's my proof: (http://kotaku.com/5274549/) As you can see, when Kotaku confronted MS on why the priced increased, they responded with a list of "features" that had been implemented into ODST which would account for its price. Those "features" include things I have already paid for.
These are the facts:
Bungie said the game matured to more than just a side-story.
That's basically it. We don't know how longer it is now, we don't know how many *other* things there are to do in the game (easter eggs, etc.) we don't know how much more difficult it is compared to Halo 3. We don't know anything except the above stated fact. So I beg you (this is not directed towards you Kalle) fine gentlemen do not bring up false statements or those lacking tangible proof from a direct source (e.g Bungie, Microsoft are direct sources).

youre really stupid. IT IS NO LONGER AN EXPANSION! Working with Ubisoft has taught me that an expansion ADDS ON TO A GAME! MORE LIKE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT LIKE GTA:TLATD. It has too many hours in to the campaign ( Gears of war just adds what 20 more minutes?) ODST will be 3-4 hours! IF it were an expansion they would ADD MORE LEVELS TO HALO 3 AND MAYBE ADD FIREFIGHT! BUNGIE DID NOT INTEND THE PRICE TO BE SO HIGH. IF YOU FORGET EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES AND ARE NOT PERFECT!
I don't see how half this community can live with itself, you ask for all of this stuff, and then when things don't go your way or you don't get what you want you whine about it like a two year old!
Excuse me good sir. Even though I had sworn to not get involved anymore in this in-agreeable argument, I feel obliged to step in.
First of all, you say the game is no longer an expansion. I wish to see some tangible proof on your so called "not an expansion" theory. Yes, I am aware the creators of the game, Bungie, have stated once or twice that its game has developed into more than a side-project. However, even though I will give Bungie the benefit of the doubt, I can't help the urge for further proof. They still have not stated how much longer the game has grown. The last statement on the game's length was about three months ago. They said it was 3-5 hours.
But you say its not an expansion anymore, comparing it to other so called " expansions' " length with ODST's. I regret to inform you that "expansion" in the term of time can be subjective and is more a matter of opinion than a relative and just manner of comparison. Furthermore, knowingly stating that ODST is more than what Bungie initially said in terms of length is a lie. So I ask all of you to please refrain from using the "its bigger" theory as an arguable method.
That is all.
Any questions?

PS: Wow the thread did really end.. I guess "/thread" does work after all :P
