People can complain all they want; if people never voice their opinions then nothing will change. Sure, I doubt that the complaining will change the price of the game, but you're wrong to tell them to stop complaining. Just like it would be wrong of someone to tell you to stop trying to justify the $60 dollar price tag. The people who are complaining are thinking like consumers. They are expressing the dissatisfaction of the price of a product that they believe to be overpriced.

You complainers have to stop complaining. Video games are made by companies that want to make a profit and video games are a luxury, not a necessity. They can charge $200 for all I care, it's MY choice on whether or not to pay for it. I don't need this game, I may want it but I don't need it.

How about you try to think like a consumer and not a cry baby.

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

The difference is, Recon is worth money.

How on earth is Recon worth money? Considering its already been developed. Please tell me why instead of just writing the same thing over and over again.
It's rare, good for machiniama, looks cool, Can make my dream armor, Katana, Recon Shoulders, Security, which I call the add on armor, due to the many things sticking off, and is over all awesome. Oh, and it has a cool name.

Its not going to be rare after thsi game ships. Anyways, you would rather have Recon armor then $10? THats a bit odd. ITs definitely not worth $10, and I'm pretty sure most machinima makers who are good already have Recon. Even if they didn't, you can still probablly only get it on one account (unless you have a ton of free time on your hands).

you really think that the company that has said time and time again that a map pack won't ever be free will down the price on a game like this? if they'll never make the legendary map pack free, i wouldn't expect a drop in price.

and the price for GoW 2 dropped cuz that game is a bust

IT sold 5 million copies, I would like to see you makea "bust" game that good. It is also #4 on the Xbox Live charts, and the #2 Xbox 360 exclusive.

They dropped it because they cared about fan outcry. This company used to make the map packs go free before. Now apparently we get to repurchase them.
I'd rather rebuy them. That way I can show them I'm not a 2-timing PS3 fanboy traitor.

And that is important how? And how on earth does that apply to the majority of 360 consumers? I see, so does Micrsooft pay your bills or something?
No, but I love Bungie.

But, if your friends have it aswell, you can have alot of it.

reason their charging you again: because your whiney -blam!-es who deserve to be charged again for the annoyance of having you on the planet.

its worth it, get over it.. its worth it even without considering the old halo 3 content.

$24 firefight, thats like £15 which its easily worth
$24 for campaign, £15 again easily worth it for 3-5 hours, (or more if no rushing)
$11-12 map pack - £6-7 normal price

practically is $60 plus the price of a disk and some time spent in the machine, that and also development efforts

plus all the extras you just get anyway (recon, more achievies for those who want, halo reach beta, johnson for sensible people)

and adding halo 3 multiplayer onto that with all the maps, A HUGE BONUS

please people stop it

Yo.

Those resons are valid except for the beta. Think about it. If Bungie wanted to, they could test it themselves or with a group of like 5 randomly chosen people. We had to pay for the halo 3 beta from crackdown didn't we? I don't think crackdown is a 60$ dollar, although it does rock :3

How come people can't understand that calling people "cheap" doesn't actually negate the argument?

It's like saying "If you think the movie sucks then don't watch it", you saying that doesn't negate the fact that the movie sucks...it's just an excuse to sidestep the issue and prevent yourself from actually forming a legit argument.

It's not about the money, I have the money, it's about principle...about not being a tool.

Your effectively paying for a multiplayer you already have, a Survival mode that you can only play if you happen to have friends on call at the same time you want to play(not often or not at all), and a 3-5 hour campaign that you can complete by renting it. Also consider this is an expansion of a two year old game. This leaves us with the Beta but you don't factor Betas/Demos into pricing and the second Map Pack...which might be worth 10USD if you plan on playing in the DLC playlist and maps are good.

But I bought Halo3 because of the campaign, I wasn't given option to not pay for the rest.
We buy ODST because of something, we aren't given an option to not pay for the rest.

That's a good analogy you've made. Unfortunately it can't be justly compared to the situation at hand. You see, Halo 3 didn't have any thing from Halo 2. ODST, however, does. I understand that *perhaps* the game is worth 60$ by itself (without Halo 3's multiplayer or the maps held accountable for part of its price) but like you stated, all we know right now are guesses. However, so far it is my understanding that we are in fact paying for a recycled game, or at least a portion of it. Here's my proof: (http://kotaku.com/5274549/) As you can see, when Kotaku confronted MS on why the priced increased, they responded with a list of "features" that had been implemented into ODST which would account for its price. Those "features" include things I have already paid for.

These are the facts:

Bungie said the game matured to more than just a side-story.

That's basically it. We don't know how longer it is now, we don't know how many *other* things there are to do in the game (easter eggs, etc.) we don't know how much more difficult it is compared to Halo 3. We don't know anything except the above stated fact. So I beg you (this is not directed towards you Kalle) fine gentlemen do not bring up false statements or those lacking tangible proof from a direct source (e.g Bungie, Microsoft are direct sources).

youre really stupid. IT IS NO LONGER AN EXPANSION! Working with Ubisoft has taught me that an expansion ADDS ON TO A GAME! MORE LIKE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT LIKE GTA:TLATD. It has too many hours in to the campaign ( Gears of war just adds what 20 more minutes?) ODST will be 3-4 hours! IF it were an expansion they would ADD MORE LEVELS TO HALO 3 AND MAYBE ADD FIREFIGHT! BUNGIE DID NOT INTEND THE PRICE TO BE SO HIGH. IF YOU FORGET EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES AND ARE NOT PERFECT!

I don't see how half this community can live with itself, you ask for all of this stuff, and then when things don't go your way or you don't get what you want you whine about it like a two year old!

Excuse me good sir. Even though I had sworn to not get involved anymore in this in-agreeable argument, I feel obliged to step in.

First of all, you say the game is no longer an expansion. I wish to see some tangible proof on your so called "not an expansion" theory. Yes, I am aware the creators of the game, Bungie, have stated once or twice that its game has developed into more than a side-project. However, even though I will give Bungie the benefit of the doubt, I can't help the urge for further proof. They still have not stated how much longer the game has grown. The last statement on the game's length was about three months ago. They said it was 3-5 hours.

But you say its not an expansion anymore, comparing it to other so called " expansions' " length with ODST's. I regret to inform you that "expansion" in the term of time can be subjective and is more a matter of opinion than a relative and just manner of comparison. Furthermore, knowingly stating that ODST is more than what Bungie initially said in terms of length is a lie. So I ask all of you to please refrain from using the "its bigger" theory as an arguable method.

That is all.

Any questions?

PS: Wow the thread did really end.. I guess "/thread" does work after all :P
