Subject: Halo 3:ODST Story Progression Being used in Reach?

7even is Darker

I was thinking, if the planet master chief at the end of Halo 3 is reach, what if the chief crash lands after many years of cryosleep, crash lands on Reach, cortana now dead, completely alone, he has to progress around the planet, finding clues that allow you to play a level that reveals how one of his comrades died.

Quick thought, questions, comments, concerns?

this is kind of a cool idea if implemented right. it's a hell of a lot better than time travel.

that's great, now quit spamming this guy's thread. it wasn't a time travel theory. maybe read the post before shouting unintelligibly?

Actually, I think that we're going to be playing as a number of different Spartans kind of like you got play as the Master Chief and the Arbiter in Halo 2. And maybe towards the end of the game they will all team up like the Arbiter and the Master did in Halo 3.

i always thought cortana was going to die while chief was in cryo-sleep. what with the 7 year lifespan and all.

It would make it interesting. And to the guy saying there is no "Time Travel" in Halo, well guess what? It's a Sci-Fi shooter! Anything can happen if Bungie wants it to happen.

yeah, definitly anything. also, they could add fairies on halo, dragon balls, giant space cows with acid milk etc.
even though the game is a scifi game, they still aim for realism. space travel is nothing like realistic.

IM A LEGIT 16

I sure as hell hope not, since that would require time travel.
Unless you don't mind a 20 minute game.

Look, Reach can't support life after being deserted for so long. The Chief can't hold out forever in a suit.

It would also be pretty stupid since you only play as the Chief, in a detective game.
Might aswell call it Cluedo: Halo Edition.

People Die..But Spartans Live Forever!

Delta Squad X

I very much agree with that...

If that equals time travel to you then there is time travel in halo 3: ODST already.

That...actually...made...sense...

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE INTERNET!!!!??

You've thrown it off balance, talking sense! ARGH!!!!

In order words, No, I can bet you, and I'm willing to, that Halo: Reach has NOTHING to do with the Legendary Ending.

That makes no sense whatsoever...

I was saying that Reach is uninhabitable so he would have to travel back in time to when it was habitable. Otherwise, we would have a 20 minute game.

Halo is not a realistic game series, glassed or not, bungie could just simply cheat and have it in it's glassed state, but oxygen still be present, or, simply, the covenant may have re purposed the planet.

  • 06.09.2009 10:44 AM PDT

FOOD!!!

maby just maby, the game will be about how reach got destroyed, i know im going out on a lim here but maby there is no time travel, and that there is no super secret twist linking legendary ending to halo reach, and that its just a game based on the fall of reach

Can't be reach because the planet at the end of Halo 3 is beyond the rim and Reach isn't.

How do we know the teaser isn't hundreds or more years after master chief went into cryo?

Because Halo: Reach is obviously about The Fall of Reach which happened right before Halo CE. You can tell by the Comm chatter that's going on that it is if you cross reference it to the book.

what would be the point of that, why dont they just make a game on the battle itself, if the chief is on a glassed reach by himself, then that wouldnt be very interesting
