I've used the search feature, and found similar problems, but none really getting to mine. For the first time Halo 2 PC ran very well on my new computer, after a month or two I've been wanting to beat it, getting around to it was tough since I've played it so much on my Xbox. Well I've managed to beat it, but on the way I've encountered some really strange errors.

It used to crash my whole computer, upon random times. What happens in specific terms, is that I'll be shooting a grunt, before I kill him, my computer and my monitor will freeze on that frame, CTRL ALT DELETE and Windows key doesn't do anything, so I'm forced to restart. It got so bad once that it gave me the infamous "Blue Screen of Death" making me go into a paniclike state of shock. Shortly after 5 minutes of constant emotional distress my computer restarts and seems find to the naked eye.

I tried to play it again and it only shut down, no major errors. I have also played Fallout 3 to see if it's a Games for Windows problem, which logically you wouldn't think that, so I was right Fallout 3 worked like a charm. It seems to be only happening to Halo 2 PC.

Help me Bungie, or community with intelligent answers.

-From the loving, and Bungie fan for the rest of my life, Aaron-

PS: I still love you.

Something smells fishy...

can you post your specs?

Is the disk scratched?

I don't know but maybe uninstalling and then reinstalling would help.
But when doing this make sure that you remove all the remnants of Halo 2 from your computer. Then reinstall it.

I've uninstalled it before and reinstalled it, but I'll try to clear it completely, which I thought it does automatically lol.

It's obviously not your video card.

these are the specs for the game: Microsoft® Windows® Vista
2 GHz or faster processor
1 GB of system RAM
7 GB available hard disk space
NVIDIA 6100, ATI X700, or above

what brand computer do you have. Because I would call their customer support or go to online support and talk to somone about the problem.
