OH MY GOD!

sorry, the shift between the brutes and the elites is starting to occur, the prophets felt that the elites were incompetant to handle an occupation.

if you wanna be smarter Trade in your halo 3 now before everyone else trades theirs in to buy this since it comes with full halo multiplayer there is no point to own the halo discs anymore. Trade now before the price goes down

the brutes were sent down onto earth to show the prophets what they are like in fight, so that they are trustworthy. at this time the elites had started a civil war. so no elites.

Spartan119 the Red Raven.
"So officer tell me how it feels to be at the wrong end of that barrel?"

this guy droped in and got blasted by the slipspace rupture. witch is b4 the change occures cause master chief fought elites on the ground in new mombassa that same day. so unless the change occrured over night and the elites polymorephed into brutes i think theres a time gap. it would be nice to fight them again cause they were really fun. mabye they can be put into firefight.

ya they should be in firefight

I didn't read the entire thread so be nice and don't flame me.

Think of it this way, when the opening cinama happens the Regrets carrier jumps from earth to the Delta Halo. Chief and Johnson and Miranda all go there and in one mission kill the prophet. That could have been a couple of hours even an hour. The rookie has been out cold since they landed and it looks like he wakes up at night. Based on the reveal trailer 8 or 9 hours. This could mean that the Halo 2 story would be right about the part where Arby and Chief are brought together by the Gravemind...but thats just my theory on that part.

So we are facing Brutes because they replaced the guard after Chief killed the Prophet of Regret. Which we all find out why that was even aloud to happen later on.

Heh. That sounds like the title of a really bad chessy American science fiction film from the fifties. I can hear it now...

"Attack of the evil angry space gorillas - FROM OUTER SPACE!!!"

Could make a good setting for Bungie's next video game series.

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

It's a mistake because it's the intent of the entire timeline since Harvest...

And, search. You'll read many perfectly logical reasons from me and many others.

Or just read the Weekly Updates...

Howdy

Remember after The Prophet of Regret jumps into slipspace in the city Brute squads could have been sent down to search the area. This is typically the problem of going back in a trilogy. The Brutes have the Halo 3 armors and technology. But during Halo 2 they were pretty naked.

HALO 2 will rule 4ever. It is Halo and it is enougth. Thanks Bungie, our life will never be the same.

For me you've got the point When then annouced ODST I said something like "nice Elites will be back!" but now I dont understand why they wont be in ODST because you fight them and you leave and there is a time gap of 6 hours, but it doesnt seem possible that Covenant switch all the ground forces in 6 hours, because when you play at Earth in Halo 2 you dont fight brute (they only appear in Halo 2 trailer from 2003).

For the guy you talk that it could be happen after arbiter and MC met, I dont think it is a valid explanation because when go to the Mercy's ship (or Regret's I cant remember right now) you fight brutes and elites, and that seems to be a very beginnig of Civil War, maybe someone you read the comics between halo 2 and 3 could give us a better explanation. And I dont think that when you are in Delta Halo, the Elites at earth know that the civil war was started, unless that Covenant tecnology is far far far advanced comared with human tecnology.

But in the en there is a little help that suddently elites will appear in the middle of ODST campain.

The reason why you see Brutes instead of Elites in Halo 3 ODST is that the Brutes are secretly being used as the backbone for the armies of the Covanent, and have earned Truth's trust. By doing this they become the main force of the Covanent; which would explain the cutceane during which the Arbiter returns from a mission that he was sent to do, the Arbiter watches as his brothers are stripped of the Honor Guard. Thus anarchy begins, and the Brutes and the Elites are locked in a Civil War.

I thought it was supposed to take place soon before halo 3 hence the title Halo 3: ODST

In the end of Halo 1... That Elite wasn't hugging Sgt. Johnson... he was stealing his wallet

PLAY ELITE! I mean, comon! We're friggin' huge talking salamanders for god's sake! Whats not to love!!

I betcha there will be elites...due to the fact that the civil war hadn't started yet...but I think the brutes are there mainly because all the Elites were busy on Delta Halo being the Covenants head army at the time... brutes were the backups till the elites were "fired"

oh I know, i know. one day bungie was looking through the forums and they saw that one kid didn't use the search bar. so to frustrate him because he had frustrated them, they went and did something that wouldn't confuse normal people, but only people that DON'T USE THE SEARCH BAR!!!!! NOW SUFFER THE PAIN!!!!! grrr
