That's true. I mean, look, faith is nought but a human folly created to satisfy the fearful and appease the curious and desperate masses. Much the same case with Halo fans. However, the one reason that we're even discussing this right now is because Halo as a franchise has acquired an exceptionally endearing and curious fan base, so much to the point that it resembles a very sort of real world "believe-or-know" situation: there are those who simply enjoy the experience and are content with little else, and then there are those who seek more than what is served to them, more than what is their designated journey through the Halo universe. That being the case, I think that perhaps such criteria as "who's a better fan" or "i'm a more hardcore player" shouldn't be established, and that we should simply share our knowledge with those who don't know, and share our experiences with those that haven't. And keep in mind I speak not as a simple newcomer to the Bungie online community, but as a long term Halo player and lover who wants to conglomerate, substantiate and hopefully not suffocate.

Too many people are raised to believe that faith is more valuable than verifiable facts.
There's no value in researching and building your ideas based on knowledge when you can just wholeheartedly BELIEVE in your baseless ideas.
