Good work Hunter...but i think most people on these forums will just hit the reply button and not read the first post.

MOST of the responses in this thread make me glad I moved on to the MLG forums. We actually get to discuss the flaws of the game instead of slowly crawling further up bungie's *** on our quest for recon and recognition.

See you back at MLG ;)

Hate breeds more hate.

What a shame. Most of the ideas mentioned here are not too bad, although some are a little unnecessarily extreme (1-100).

Gameplay:
- Fall Damage
- Halo CE running speed
- Halo CE type spawns (Manipulating where your teammates spawn, etc.)
- Fix Teleporters so they're like Halo CE/Halo 2
- Crouching that actually matters in a gunfight (crouching low enough to dodge headshots and the like)
- Halo CE weapon timer spawns
- Less floaty jumps. Jumping lower
- Crouching to dodge melees
- Halo CE melee dynamics
- Halo CE Field of View (FOV)
- Better netcode (bullet registration, both client and server data collection)

Guns:
- Halo CE-esque gun ranges. This means where guns actually have some range.
- Halo CE Pistol OR a Rifle with Halo CE pistol's mechanics
- Halo CE Assault Rifle
- Halo CE Plasma Rifle (With Slow Down)
- Halo CE Rocket Launcher (Slow RoF, Huge Blast Radius)
- Halo CE Grenades (Slow fuse, huge blast radius and power)
- Halo CE Sniper (Fast RoF)
- Halo CE Shotgun
- Halo 3 Needler
- Halo 3 Plasma Pistol
- Halo 3 SMG
- Don't just add guns for the sake of adding them. Trying to balance all the guns made the gameplay of Halo 3 to suffer since there were way too many.

Maps:
- Prisoner remake
- Chill Out remake
- Blood Gulch remake
- Sidewinder remake
- Damnation remake
- Hang 'em High remake
- Lockout remake
- Midship remake
- Sanctuary remake
- Beaver Creek remake
- The Pit remake
- Guardian remake

Not asking for all the maps, but if they were to remake a few, they should be from this list.

Weapon control and map control should be two different things you have to fight for in this game. Not like in Halo 3 where practically all the power weapons spawn in power points on the map.

We want the game to return somewhat to what Halo CE set as the standard for the series. Medium paced gameplay with gun fights ranging from long range to short range, NOT rock-paper-scissors gameplay.

We (those who know the difference, and care) would very much appreciate this.

Agreed. People act as though Halo 1 was only for the competitive crowd, but in reality, it had a perfect balance of casual and competitive gameplay.

If you've been playing with Xbox Connect, then lag is expected. Even if you play the PC version, it still happens. The game was made with LAN in mind.

It isnt, but it would certainly look better...its kinda boring right now. Its just like a little tap instead of feeling as though you are truly knocking someone.

As for MLG boiling over into other gametypes as someone brought up in response to one of my older posts...I haven't seen that at all. If you mean the inclusion of a Battle Rifle start in most playlists...thats not because of MLG. Thats because its necessary for balance since the Assualt Rifle isnt operable off of the spawn in the majority of maps. You have to have a Battle Rifle for balance purposes. As for other aspects of MLG...I dont see any MLG maps in other playlists, no increased damage, no decreased shield regen, no removal of weapons save for balance aspects.

Its not MLG thats impacting Bungie's decisions to remove certain weapons, its public outcry. People hated the maulers on maps, so Bungie removed them. Bungie has created Actionsack and continues to run Griffball Double EXP weekends....your argument that MLG is spilling over into the other playlists confuses me.

If your wondering about the removal of some of the equipment pieces, that was due to glitches with them and public outcry, not due to MLG's influence...

The Majority of Halo 3 gamers wanted change, not MLG players...MLG players stuck to playing MLG....sometimes the two coincide in which case those gamers still deserve a voice too.

We have come up with 3 things we would want in Halo Reach:

1. No MLG
2. No MLG
3. No MLG

What's wrong with letting another group of players voice their opinions? You know, people say that MLG players are elitists, but by just shooting down their opinions as "This is Halo: Reach, Halo MLG" or "Get out of Reach MLG", you guys are acting awfully elitist yourselves.

I think the resentment towards MLG nowadays, is not the actual group of people that are officially in it, Its the whiny spoiled little kids and over-agressive teens that want to play it because they want to be "cool." They ruin the experience towards other players. They make fun of peoples rank, they call people out because of their age and say things like Bad Kid.

People, over time, are sick of the bull-Blam!- that is caused by the group, for lack of a better term.

But I forgot to put, fix touch return and the ability to stack powerups on that list.

MLG has changed over those years so much that it is basically not the same group anymore. They didn't change things in Halo 1, or much of Halo 2 when MLG was starting. Now they basically want their own game, instead of just "going with the flow."

If MLG wants to say stuff let them say stuff.
I mean most of the stuff isn't competitive but for the fun and for the experience, Most people who play halo would agree with this list if they had the choice.
If he wouldn't have included MLG in the post you wouldn't have even considered opening this now would you?

They may make them for the fans, but they seem to change things to cater to the hyper competitive. Not to be rude, but I could give a rats nut what the MLG community wants out of Reach. IMO opinion MP should come second in the priority list from the development process. Make a great game first, then worry about the MP.

I disagree entirely. MP is what's going to keep the game alive in the long run, it should take as much priority, if not more, than the campaign.

I never said the MLG community pushed change, I said people who prefered certain aspects of MLG but not their settings pushed changed. Preference aside the BR does not balance gameplay for all, it only benefits the competitive. It is not a basic weapon by any means, it's utility is far higher than that, which is why it's favored by the competitive. No one is "wrong" for their individual taste, but that doesn't make it right as a starting weapon. This makes individual playlists geared more towards competitive gameplay, which is the purpose of the MLG playlist.

The streamlining of weapons on maps is another effect. Whether prefered by some or not, having weapon variety allows for diversified gameplay, not simply a BR fest with the occsaisional sniper or laser thrown in. MLG thrives in this setting, and as i've mentioned it can be fun, but it needs to stop within that playlist and not migrate to other playlists.

While I don't ever see them bringing the custom setting to things like damage and movement, the playlists and weapons on map are influenced by those that wan't competitive gameplay, but don't want MLG. It's not any individual groups "fault" but i'd rather them not get too much farther into it as it only caters to the competitive (however you define it) and not all players involved.

Because Halo became less competitive. It was dumbed down for the masses. The masses who buy the game and play it until the next new thing comes out.

Halo CE, argueably the best in the existing trilogy, had it's MP added after the fact and it did just fine, in fact it blew up the console LAN world. Proof positive that you don't need to build the game around the MP to make it work. The more they add to MP the more people get irrtated by things getting changed.
