I seriously hope not. The current engine seems a little dated to me. The current engine is probably about 5 years old now and is beginning to show it's age. I would be disappointed if Reach looks basically the same as Halo 3/ODST. Anyone agree/disagree. All opinions welcome.

What spectagon are you in?

i agree. I think it will be a new engine.

Im sure there will be some upgrades, but I seriously doubt they would make a new engine from the ground up

i don't have a problem with halo 3's engine, but a new look would be nice.

I don't believe you'll see a new engine until there's a new platform.

I would expect huge changes to the existing engine, such that it would be incompatible with the existing Halo 3 game but I don't expect them to start from scratch.

I could be wrong.

I doubt it'll be as big a change as from Halo 2 to Halo 3. It'll probably be more like Halo 3 to ODST: some cool changes, but mostly the same. Anti-aliasing plz?

(Bungie > 343i)

The Halo engine usually looks better with each release, ODST actually looks better then Halo 3 the small tweaks are what looks great.

I certainly hope so. I remember starting Halo 3 up for the first time...

All those jaggies...

If you get significant jaggies playing Halo 3 you're doing it wrong.
