If there is any power to be found, it's within yourself, not your weapon.
I'm seeing a lot of theories ABOUT Reach, or existing Halo dogma, but here is the thing I want to know...why Reach?
We kind of know everything there is to know about Reach. A book is about as detailed as you can get about an event, and I'm sure it covers a lot more things than the games do, and yet...now we have the Reach game.
But that's not like Bungie. Looking at ODST, there is this whole weird thing with the superintendant (city maintanence AI, but still...). Here we got a game about the events just before Halo 2, but what's so special about that? Knowing Bungie, there must be something about the first moments in Mombasa that make it significant. Halo so far hasn't been a simple "we shootin' stuff cause there's stuff to shoot" story, so there must be something new; some bit of information to add more to the story. We don't spend much time in Mombasa, so obviously there is much to learn about the event.
So now we have Reach, an event covered in great detail in a book. Now, what the heck is so special about that? We know what happens, so why bother with a prequel about Reach? Obviously Bungie has some kind of ace up their sleeves; they wouldn't be Bungie if they didn't. There is some element here we're missing, some bit of informatiion that has been hidden in the shadows until now. Reach will probably unveil something we didn't know before, possibly even opening up a line of thought that may lead to the future of Halo.
My question is...what could it possibly be? What are we missing?
