We all know that there will be firefight as a co-op, but will the campaign have the ability of co-op?

Don't people ever take the time to look up such simple information anymore?

  • 06.09.2009 1:14 PM PDT

i doubt it.

in fact, i'm almost positive i read somewhere that it won't.

after all, look at the gameplay. it's like a free roam game. that'd be hard to do co-op.

i think that's why they added firefight in; to give the game something in the way of multiplayer.

No sense being rude to the OP. It's just a question.

OP: yep, you can co-op with up to 3 other friends throughout the entire campaign.

Watch the linked demo by 1UP. In it, you will hear a Bungie rep, Gerrard, answer the OP's question.

exactly.

i mean, after Halo 3, there's no more clones to play as (not literal clones, but thats what i call co op players in halo 2 and 1)

and, he never says "there is co op in ODST". what he says is something along the lines of "exploring the city in co op"... but that could just be talking about firefight.

after that, he just talks about firefight co op, which is different.

My god. I read that co-op over liive will have 4 players. Local has 2 players. they said it on the halo 3 ODST Q&A.

  • 06.09.2009 1:43 PM PDT

my bad, i just read/saw it.

i still think it's stupid to have co-op for the campaign, though. unless you're co-op partners are just generic ODSTs and not clones of the rookie.

Play it before you bash it.

And you're buddies will be generic ODSTs like your co-op buddies in Halo 3 were generic elites.

i didn't mean to sound like i was bashing it.

i just meant to say that i hope in co-op, you will have generic ODSTs instead of clones like in Halo CE and Halo 2.

and the elites from 3 weren't generic. they had names, and were differently colored than normal elites. one was purple, and the other was completely blue (as opposed to the blue/black combination of generic elites.

Well the elites you fought with on Floodgate had the same range of characteristic variation as the two co-op models you used for 4 player co-op; and the names were never brought up in the actual course of the game.

For all intents and purposes, they were generic.

But symantics aside, cloning characters for co-op use is something that we probably will never have to worry about with any future bungie game.
