"This party's over." ~Mace Windu

PPPPPP--POWER!

It has become very clear to me that this community is filled with some very detail oriented individuals as well as some very well educated individuals in Halo lore and canon. Here is my question...

Have you actually taken a very close look at the geographical layout of the planet in the main picture gracing the forum header and Halo: Reach webpage? I think there is a greater story to be told there than just blunt speculation. Now I've read many of the books, though I haven't kept up on many of the characteristics regarding both planets. It seemed like the planet at the end of Halo 3 possessed characteristics similar to the planet Coruscant in Star Wars: more of a global city. Whereas the planet showcased in the first trailer is very oriented towards a more organic layout with mountains and rivers, etc. What do you think? Personally I think this is a tell tale sign of where we are in the Halo story arc, but could it be too little information to possibly validate a prequel instead of another sequel?

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

I agree, there was a nice discussion about this on Ascendant Justice. There is a link in the first post of the following thread, that people are using as proof that it is a prequel.

I hate you so much...

But not as much as I hate the internet.

I was almost excited there for a minute...

It's also full of people who do a little research.

It's a prequel.

Lol. You just had to go and ruin all the fun. I wonder how many other people are familiar with that link since it seems like there is still quite a bit of speculation running around the forums regarding the time period of this game.

Most people can't be bothered to read 70 pages of threads... even tho if you broke them all down... it would only be a half a page of different topics. lol.

The part of Reach that was not glassed was Highland Mountains.

everyone doing that speculation is a moron.

If you've read the books, you'll know the events of Reach took place before Halo 1. Cortana says it in the first Halo 1 cutscene, and Admiral Hood mentions it in Halo 2.

There is no questioning it, no debate, and no speculation. Don't use the hundreds of other threads on this forum to justify making another one. Be original.

My intent wasn't to use the other threads on this forum to justify making this one. It was more or less to open up a topic of discussion on the locale prior to my mistake of not being 100% sure of the time period of the game.

110% with you on that.
