I think bungie just recommended that rating to stall the nine year olds.

Why does it always come down to conspiracies on the internet?

Have sou seen what it's rated for?

M for Mild Blood, language, and Violence.

Which makes no sense, because Bad Company is rated T for Violence STRONG Language, and Alcohol references.

You tell me what's worse.

You seem to be on to something...
Or maybe ESRB is just retarded.

Maybe (Probably) both.

Anyways, at least my Parents "trust" the Halo series, for not being something gears of War like, or like GTA, which to me, have unneeded amounts of Violence and gore.

But yeah, OP, take your parents.

Four shots, four kills, reload, repeat. This is the work of a sniper.

I'm 15, and I'm bringing my parents with me just to play it safe. If you can not get a parent to go with you, just get someone over 18 I guess. Usually they make you have a parent with you when you pre-order as well, but maybe thats just my gamestop.

I'm thinking the whole, it's an campaign expansion to a game that is already out that is rated M, might have something to do with it.

Good point. i just wish the ESRB could realize that there is mental maturity along with age.

I'm 13, but I can handle the goriest stuff around(Though I dislike games with excessive gore). It's safe to saw I would never go on a chainsaw rampage. Or steal a car. Or mimic a game unless done as a joke and light heartedly.

Just take your parents. I'm not jumping to conclusions saying you're like this, but I don't understand why people don't like to be seen with their parents. It's just their parents, their family, yet some people care about being seen with them. Sigh :\

But yeah, I suggest taking a parent or maybe an older brother, or just a friend who has an ID, whatever. Don't go and chance it, it could be a big waste of time.

So yesterday, i reseved halo 3 odst and i'm only 15..... can i be able to pick up the game on tuesday without an adult? i look 18 so maybe i'll get lucky and they won't ID me. but still can i?

edit:
i like in los angeles BTW

No because every game store is required by law to check your ID. If you believe you look 18, it doesn't matter, they will card you. Get a sibling who's over 17 or your parents to go with you.

anyone with any kind of ID.
hell, my older bro drives me.
he buys it, but i pay for it.
and he gets DLC. usually how our games go.

I remember you explaining this system to me. Poor sap had to buy $30 worth of Fallout DLC.

Anyway, I would bring them just to make sure. Although, for the spirit of adventure, you could bring your parents, have them wait at the back, try doing it yourself, and if it doesn't work, go with plan B.

Bring your parents just in case. I don't know how the shopowners are in LA, so just bring them along to be on the sure side.

Yup. I had that problem many times. Since you're not actually picking up the game at that time, you're able to pay for it early, and then get it when you have someone old enough with you.

Subject: Do i need to bring my parents......*EDIT*

Go to the group Tenacious D join and be with me!

I'll just go and see if they'll let me buy it, Alot of people say that i look older than 18, and im 6' 1'' so that's pretty tall for a 15 year old.

  • 06.11.2009 4:46 PM PDT

If I were in you're shoes, I'd just have my Mom/Dad pick it up for me while I'm at school or something.

  • 06.11.2009 5:02 PM PDT

First off, if you are going to ask me to join a group then you must partener with my group, our join my group. Then I will join your group. My group is called Forgestop.

ya my parents have to come with me no matter what the rating. just buy it off of amazon if u have it. thats what i am doing. plus shipping free. i wouldnt go to gamestop if i preordered it. that place it gonna be a zoo when odst comes out.

Wouldn't life be nice if you actually had to be 17 to even play the game?

More mature players online (probably), less high pitched squealing, better grammar in the forums... I can only dream.
