Subject: Posts by Superintendent eluding to Dare's involvment...

Ok, check this out...

There were 2 posts by the SI back in September 19th and 22nd of last year, both including Dare's name in them.

September 19th post is here

September 22nd post is here

(for some reason, its not allowing me to quote those transcripts...)

Anyone got ideas on what both of those posts are all about?

Oh yeah It's Rayzed.

The only thing I found interesting was that Dare is called an S1. Which is probably Spartan 1. Which means she was a member of project ORION, aka original Spartans.

Or it could mean Section 1... or any number of other things, really. Though section one seems most likely, seeing as its a division of ONI.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Remember when people thought the SI was Frankie? Haha, good times.

Yeah I like that idea better. I thought about how the UNSC kept the ORION project under wraps. Your answer is a lot more plausible.

Nope. Wrong. OXM January Edition has had Joe Staten confirm no Spartans. And that S1 has nothing to do with Spartans.

Rather, since Dare is with ONI, S1 could be Section 1.

ONI Section 1 is the main intelligence-gathering section, and the foremost provider of electronic intelligence for the UNSC. Covenant ship movements and force deployment, evacuation notices for colonies, deletion of data for secrecy purposes, and much more are all done by Section 1

Which fits her role properly as she probably needed a squad because they realized something. Most likely they needed to get the squad to the ONI Alpha Site as there was some sort of Data on the Portal to the Ark that ONI had that they needed to delete before the Covenant found it.

They are both discussing the ODST team. The first one is just talking about what the team is being sent to do and the second one is Dare requesting the ODSTs for her team.

The circle is now complete.

Well, Dare's actual involvement with the Supreintendent has yet to be revealed. Being an ONI officer and the SI's core located at the ONI Alpha Site, it's safe to say there is some connection.

In the second link you posted, it should be obvious if you've been keeping up with ODST news. She requests command of a squad for some classified mission. Again, details are unknown.

Bingo.

Now we have to ask ourselves... were the other ODST's aware of their mission? Can we begin to deduce the beginning (at least) of how this plot turns out?

No they were not. Except Buck, whom I don't think knew the full extent of what was going on. He just knew that Dare had another mission for them and that they were going to be asked to divert from the main attack group.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Not on topic, but is Buck voiced by Nathan Fillion? Character model looks similar to Nathan...

Every ODST Character is modeled after their voice actor. So yes, Buck is voiced and modeled after Nathan Fillion.

Thanks, just double checking. I vaguely recall Bungie mentioning something about it a few months back.
