Would anyone else like it if we wouldn't be flashed to our main person, or whoever is farthest ahead?

Personally, I would enjoy being in the south part of Mombasa while my teammate explores the north..

Would anyone else like this?

Why can't you?

  • 06.09.2009 10:23 PM PDT

ODST is an Open-Area Campaign, so no, you don't teleport to your Co-Op friends. That is why you have waypoints on your VISR Database, so you can rally, and don't get lost.

In Halo 3, if your way far back, then you get teleported ahead...

Which is pretty fun when your way back in a warthog..

Four shots, four kills, reload, repeat. This is the work of a sniper.

It doesn't do that in ODST, you can all explore random parts like you were planning.

Lt Sartor: Dare kills her squad 4 r3c0n
goatman327]: they start bangin each other (buck and dare) in the back of the pelican in the end(thats y she kill squad, so they could hav some privacy on the ride home)
Graham 8D: 21 and didn't get. Not really bothered tho :) I just want that sexy body and one shoulder..

It'll most likely be free-roam all over, but once someone reaches a flashback, the players will most likely take control of members of the squad.

It's confusing when you have to think: What if more than one player enables a flashback moment at the same time?

Unless one of the players comes to a high priority objective that will usher in a cutscene, I don't think that the others will teleport or "flash" to his position. That is more typical of linear gameplay. If it's free-roam then we'll be free to explore at our discretion without any such interruptions.

Alright cool..

I'm imaging being alone, and getting surrounded by enemies, then calling my friend form far away to only arrive in a nick of time..

I love cliche action moments..

I would imagine that only the host can trigger flash back moments and then the other players instantly spawn to his location. But when you are simply roaming you are free to do so.

That was always what I envisioned..

Anyone else planning to hold that bridge?

The first cut scene, I'm gonna get a group of four and push back..

  • 06.09.2009 10:42 PM PDT

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

First off - Bungie had a problem with co-op campaign in that it couldn't support two players in two different cached sections of a level. Unless they've figured out how to handle that (perhaps with a client side loading system), players are going to teleport to each other once somebody walks past a loading screen.

Secondly - Flashbacks are major story events, which means everybody is going to participate in the cutscene, get thrown into the flashback, and then teleport to the finder at the end.

i never meant that you all wouldn't participate in the flashbacks.

And OK for that info, that was kind of what I was looking for..

Yeah, thanks for clearing it all up.

I only wonder though why waypoints are needed if you only need see the arrows above players heads and know they can only be so far.
