Subject: Halo: Reach war mode?

It would be awesome if Bungie add in a war funtion. It would be sperated from multipayer machmaking. There would be the human army and the covies. in normal war mode you are in a huge armie of limetles people(no cap) just like team slayer, but there would be a supply factor. each time you spawn your side loses supplys. to gain supplys you need to play gametypes in the war section like;

king of the hill: you need to defend the area so more supplys/ troops can be shiped down
assult: you go and destroy the enimes supplys/genorators (they lose supplys)
capture the flag: you need to go in and steal enemie teach. (would give ur side a boost ei: faster, healt regen speed up ect.)
vip: you need to protect the vip, if u can they sponser the war effort
teritoreis: you need to capture a base/hold it (incress supplys a sec. gained)
slayer: the normal war type

you gain supplyes over time on the amount of bases your side contoles, and you can gain or lose depending on how your side is doing the the above gametypes. to even out the sides bungie could give bouns exp. to the side with less people, wich would make more people join them.

bungie probobly wont do this, but if they did it would be in this game and i think it would be awesome and it would give people a reson to buy it. thoughts?

Exalted is considered "the highest" because you can't get any bans or warnings of any kind for quite a long time, which is harder than just being a member for a long time.

This is actually a very cool and unique idea.

I don't know how well it would fit into a console game, but I have thought about stuff like this before for an online RPG type of game. Users play as individuals, but take part in massive battles that effect how a war is fought out over time.

This actually made me think that maybe online gameplay could be integrated into an online game.

Battles are fought in the game, and scenarios are played out based on the games that take place.

Neat ideas dude!

Five years older and wiser
The fires are burning, I'm fire, never tire
Slay warriors in the forests, and on hire

this is like a whole game on its own

just like star wars battlefront you mean?
that game was awsome

  • 06.10.2009 11:34 AM PDT

no not realy like starwars battle front. the supplys thing yes but you can regan supplys over time and trough missions, and no classes. the supplys counter is also a world wide thing not just in that one game so every one would need to participate to win.

  • 06.10.2009 11:49 AM PDT

yes i know what you mean thats a cool idea.
to bad it probaly won't be in the game.

so like halo wars but instead of commanding the battle youre in the battle sort of like battle front 2 i love that game :) mmm

  • 06.10.2009 11:55 AM PDT

lol sigh this isnt starwars battlefront, if they made this into its own game(multiplayer only) it would be halo: frontline combat

i like it

X74

I personaly could see this i like the idea but i could use a better understanding of What the supplies are exactly however i like it

  • 06.10.2009 12:30 PM PDT

The supplies is just a number that gose up over time depending on how many bases you have. When you spawn it gose down a bit. Doing the missions makes it go back up a bit or drops your enimes. Once your supplies hits 0 nobody can spawn until you get more.

Sort of like Battlefield games?

  • 06.10.2009 12:51 PM PDT

I've only played battlefeild heros, and kind of like that but world wide supply counter

  • 06.10.2009 12:59 PM PDT

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

i like it...also so 16 players work together against the onstopable covenant army... then it would be a load of fun..

Dyor' Docuree (2nd in command of the powerhouse, The Sangheili Army)

That would be awesome, especially since this idea kind of rolls along with star wars battlefront. Having a huge number of people out on the field instead of 4 on 4 sounds great. I also like the idea of having it be all gametypes together, but will it be mostly AIs or all people?

I blame stosh.

Proud tester of the Halo 3 beta.

I doubt Bungie is going to implement this, but it sounds like a fun idea to me.

Should be all people.

We're all going to hell we may as well (GO OUT IN STYLE)! /// Diamond's Aren't Forever -- Bring Me The Horizon.

Awesome idea but... it just doesn't seem possible. I've thought about this before but you put it into words. I just never saw it possible so never bothered.

Death before Dishonour.

The Floodonian Army

That would be awesome!

Well, lets see the following problems with a limitless cap CONSOLE GAME. The frame rates would lag it so badly, that you'd have to be 2-D to support that many players. A 32 player limit, is the most a game to support without catastropic Failure... (May or may not be true but thats the number I'm sticking with... 40 would be insane.) Another thing: Using the Models of Elites VS Spartans it would... well cause more mayhem, because the bodies would pile up, and add more effects thus causing more lag. I like the idea but sadly it just doesn't seem plausable. Not to mention the amount of GB It would take up... You'd have to buy a new harddrive to support the saves and the maps made for a War. Limits my friend Limits are needed every where... The imagination may be limitless, but the games are.
