Subject: why are people complaining about the Price?

Its how we fall

OK, i understand that in America it is $60. now don't get me wrong but that isn't a lot of money.
i understand that raising that much money may be a problem for some of you but have you stopped to consider what OTHER places Prices are like?

for example I am a Proud Australian. here the AVERAGE price for Xbox 360 games is around $80-$100. now don't you think that's a bit more than $60?
so please don't go on about how you have to pick up extra jobs to buy it. please consider that other people are paying over $40 more for the same product!
and i am SURE that some where else in the world the price is more than $100!

so the next time you post a comment saying " OMG $60 I need to start saving now" or "$60? what a rip off!"
just think how little you actually are paying for the product!

yes there are currency exchange rates but even before the global financial crisis the prices were about $10 cheaper! still leaving a gap in the prices between us.

now i would debate that prices should be universally the same but we all kno that's not possible. but we can try.

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

I already told you this. I thought you'd be smart enough to understand.

In your money system, more=less. You spend/get paid more dollars, so it still breaks even. If you come to America, you'll find your 80-100 AUS equaling 60 USD, according to the information you've given.

It's called a conversion rate...

Our Australian dollar is not equal to the American Dollar.

At the very moment of this post, 1 AUD is equal to 0.811 USD.

So therefore if ODST comes out for 60$ in America, it will cost about 75-85$ here in Australia.

Yes, I do agree that they tend to put prices a little high on games here in Australia. But that's just because of the extra money it costs to ship them all here.
You pay shipping and handling on games you buy over the internet. It's the same thing for the games in shops. If you don't like paying for the shipping, pay to download your games instead. :)

my point is you are complaining about a price that s very acceptable in other country's!

In your money system, more=less

i agree that More=less but its still a huge gap.

the Australian dollar buys about $0.80-0.85 US ATM therefore pushing the price up a fair bit!
BUT before the financial crisis the exchange was one Australian dollar buys $0.95 US and still the price was around the a fore mentioned price.
You spend/get paid more dollars, so it still breaks even.
and yes we spend more but we don't get paid more. making it a harder target still.

Please Phoenix508 i don't want to argue economics i have to do that too much in my economics classes at school. can we just agree to disagree?

oh and i would like to see what prices other people are likely to pay.
so if you know or can take a educated guess then i will be very interested to see how much difference there is world wide.!

There's nothing to disagree about. Another Aussi just proved my point right on the spot. You are breaking even, otherwise the price wouldn't be that. How do I know that? Because, where do you think the extra money you paid goes? To the manger, employees, company, they're all getting paid more. There's nothing to debate.

P.S. I honestly believe the price for the game is fair anyways.

Actually, the average amount Australians get paid per year is approx $49k AUD, an average American gets paid approx $32k USD.

49000 AUD = approx 39k USD.

So going by my quick research, then yes, we do get paid more than Americans ON AVERAGE.

And even if the average American pay is a little bit higher than what I could research, then it would still roughly be about the same.

The only difference we are paying in our games is the extra 10-15$ that they charge for postage and handling. Same goes for buying things of eBay or Amazon... not that big of a deal.

My little finger tells me many are either cheap guys who can't convince their wives or themselves to let them buy a video game for the fun of it, or are underage and can't sell the idea of buying a video game to their parents. That's about it, really.

He stated in his OP that we pay about 10$ on top of what an American would, and I have stated that would be for shipping and handling reasons. It's still a comparison of price...

We just get that extra price added on, because our games have to be shipped to us.

I can see people complain a little if theyve spent money on all the map packs thus far. Only because most agree that the reason for the $60 price tag is due to all the maps being included.

I have bought all the mappacks so far, and I'm not complaining. I still think that everything that is coming with the game is worth it. :D

Ignorance is not an excuse, EVER!

why are you complaining about people complaining, it is an unjustifiable comment that served no purpose but to be overbearing and start an argument. If you want to argue go play team slayer and fight with that 7 year old over the sniper.

If that's directed at me, I'm not complaining about anything. I was just bringing up points to counter what he was complaining about. He can complain as much as he wants, and I can try and counter as much as I want.

There's nothing that I said in any of my posts that is a complaint against the OP.

no that's for me.

no i did not want to start an argument i was posting my an opinion on a subject which i do believe is called "freedom of Speech" i am free to say what i want about a subject.

i also wanted to see what other people thought about the matter too.

If you want to argue go play team slayer and fight with that 7 year old over the sniper.

and here we go again with the 'X year old kid'
Firstly, no i don't play team slayer a lot that's just my personal choice.
Secondly, i don't fight over the Sniper Rifle i do tend to grab it but i don't fight for it.
And lastly, your last comment chiefs3, is sparking an argument which you have accused me of doing.

So what are you saying here chiefs3? You tell me that my opinion is unjustifiable and that served no purpose but to start an argument, but then You go ahead and start one your self!

Back to the topic PLEASE!

See, it's starting an argument not because it's a controversial opinion, but because it's an incorrect fact.

Resistance Is Futile...

Go ahead and lock it, its a lame pointless thread anyway that has been discussed over and over. What was your point? to try and tell ppl not to complain because of your opinion? No one cares.

But anyway,
I have no problem paying $60 for ODST, and that is coming from me who is jobless and on unemployment from a layoff. So that should tell you where I stand on the situation. So when I still say this thread is offensive and stupid you know I'm not bias. Even though I like to blow money on games doesn't mean other people can.

Some people have kids and bills and can barely afford food on the table due to this stupid economy but still love Halo. So don't make these people feel like crap for not having money to blow. That's -MY- opinion.... 8)

BTW the conversion rate and shipping should have been a no brainier. :P So move to America if you hate it so bad, all the mexicans are. lol

This pointless rant brought to you by SleezyKelveezy
