"That's quite a feat for such a small boy."
"I'm young not small."

I've been playing halo since release, but don't have a console, so I bought it for PC. I try to join an MP game and it says "You must have administrative privileges to download this required patch." This is the only account on the computer. I also tried manually downloading the patch, and none of the sites seem to be up to date. I don't know what I'm doing wrong here, any ideas?

Something smells fishy...

You must not be set as the administrator for your PC.

If you're using Windows XP I would back up your files, delete the account you are using, and create a new one that has adminstrative privileges.

I'm running vista, and I AM admin. I am THE admin of the computer, as it is the ONLY profile on the computer. I own the pc, I built it, and its the only profile on the computer

Just download it manually, instead of ranting you could have just moved your eyes about half an inch down from this thread.

it's likely an issue with UAC or something similar conflicting with the autodownloader.
