why would they attack from the water when they have hundreds of ships that can drop off any number of troops anywhere on the planet in a matter of minutes? And they could just as easily incinerate your position with plasma from orbit.

well just maybe since it is a human controlled world the covonent cant fly any ships in because the UNSC have controll of the air... they might have to resort to other tactics

No they dont, the covenant easily destroyed all of Reach's orbital defenses. And if they couldnt fly ships in, how did their troops get on the planet in the first place?

ok well this is just an idea for any future game... i really would like to see somthin like this... maybe before the covonent totally take over reach the UNSC desides to do a counter attack and they dont have anymore pelicans so they have to do a D-day kinda thing?

It still wouldnt work. Any offensive would be easily crushed, and the one of the only reasons there were Covenant troops on the planet is because they were sent there to destroy the ground based power stations for the orbital defenses(and to capture CASTLE base, but only after the planet was glassed), and after they were taken out most of the planet was glassed and its oceans were likely vaporized. So there could be no sea based attack.

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

OP, this is not a Halo style mission, at all.

"Wort wort wort, everyone, to the dinghies! Wort wort wort!"

When you can be dropped off anywhere, why would they drop off in the ocean, where they float on a gigantic sinkable target, to try to get somewhere that they could just be dropped off at in the first place?

If you'd like to play this mission, I recommend you buy a Call of Duty game.

...except we don't have the technology that they have then, today.

We can't always just drop troops wherever we need them. In the 2500s, they can.

How about a scene where a Covenant Carrier overheats on atmospheric entry and crashes into the water, the outer hull broken but the insides intact? Then the Elites row the pieces to the shore.
