Subject: A.I. Warthog driver Idea

Steven

I often find myself frustrated with the AI guy driving the warthog while im trying to gun down enemies. I thought it would be nice if you could use the left stick to guide them in the right direction. I mean, if your not touching the stick they will just drive however they usually would. But if you push the stick in a specific direciton, the dirver will respond accordingly. Of course this assumes that there are warthogs in Reach. Thoughts?

I like this idea, I prefer driving though so it doesn't really bother me.

I had some problems in H2 but H3 AI's are great.

Sounds like a great idea, this would really help when the AI is about to accidentally drive you off a cliff, or is driving and is about to be nailed by a wraith mortar.

Call me Reach.

I have an idea!

Make the friendly AI smart enough to not shoot you with rockets or drive you off a cliff as a Scarab is exploding. TWICE.

-blam!-'s happened to me before. I had Iron on too.

I like your idea, OP.

Doesnt that mean your basically driving the warthog on your own?

Isn't that just controlling the vehicle, then? It sounds like you're asking for the ability to drive the Warthog while on the turret. I mean, maybe you could "guide" in short bursts like honking the Elephant horn, but not all the time.

Tank beats everything!

Heres an idea, maybe include some sort of lock on alert of something like that to show the AI drive that doing what ever is a bad idea. Like maybe a sencer so they dont go off cliffs. thats my 2 cents

i don't like.

that means you would be in the back, in the gunner's seat, AND controlling the warthog at the same time. it'd be too much.

I like the idea, but it seems rather complex. Don't forget we do still have the d-pad.

Tank beats everything!

What about hand signals from the gunner seat, with the D-pad... Left to go left right to go right that kinda thing...

  • 06.11.2009 3:13 PM PDT

I like this idea. The AI still drives around, just your input suggests where they should go.

Tank beats everything!

Well its simple, and yet very usefull in terms of the game play, you dont have to worrie about that stupid Pvt. Jekins driving you off some cliff or into the nice big blue ball of hot plasma flying at you

How about if you have a mic, then you should be able to give marines orders, also being able to yell at them if they screw up would be helpful.)

I never let H2 AI's drive. Either they gunned, rode shotgun, and depending on my mood....were mercilessly gunned down by me.

Anyways, this idea is pretty good.
