Of course.. the idea would need some work. It would have to have its own "Halo feel" and wouldnt be accomplished easily. But Bungie can handle it.

And let's make it so you can take cover behind conveniently placed, low walls.

And then we change the Chiefs first name to Marcus.

And the rename the series "Halos of War" or "Gears of Halo".

Sorry dude but revival systems just don't belong in Halo.

*laugh out loud*

We are watching. Correcting all your flaws.
Always.

Biofoam would work like Pain Pills from Left 4 Dead, almost. Heal you for a limited time, and when that time runs out, you'd be "downed" again until you got medical attention by a Combat Medic, another player with more biofoam, or something of the sorts.

How about this system:

Respawn in 10... 9... 8...

instead of your -blam!-y gears of war copy paste idea.

Way to put that loser in his place! Nobody under the rank of 41 can have an opinion different than yours, they all have to listen to you and give you asspats. I mean, how dare he suggest that we don't mess with a solid system!

Youre just mad because you too, are a 36!

Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

A revival system would be much better than respawning in campaign.

Still have no REAL arguments, do you? I'd say it was a trait of all 41s, but I know people higher than that who don't need to make fun of other people's ranks to win an argument.

And while I'm here, I may as well ask you to play Halo some more, and watch how quickly your Marines die. They are the dumbest AI partners I've ever seen and only good for holding ammo, ESPECIALLY on the higher difficulties. I don't want to have to run around a battlefield playing "Doctor" every five seconds because a Marine got downed for the fourth time. I'd rather they perform the only task they've ever been good at (absorbing plasma meant for me) than doing that and I have to go give them a loving tussle on the head to get them back up because a plasma shot singed their uniform. And don't say, "Oh, Bungie will make the AI smarter this time" because they won't. If anything, they'll be dumber than before. Halo 3 promised us better AI, and the Marines are just as stupid as before.

In fact, the best way to help the Marines in the entire series has been to do everything yourself, kill all the baddies as fast as possible before too many Marines die.

Oh, and nobody likes escort missions. Mostly due to horrible AI, but also due to nobody wants to be a babysitter. We want to go and pretend we're a futuristic Rambo, guns blazing and slaughtering everything that moves. And this actually leads back to me not wanting the revive system, as you would make the whole game a babysitting mission. Sure, I'll probably just let the Marines die and Hoover up all their ammo later, but I don't need to hear their cries for help over the sound of me introducing an Elite's head to the business end of my gun.

Yeah and heres your argument: "Gears of War already did that! SO STFU!"

Idiot.

Hey, I play games.

Wow, after all the idiots that posted on this thread, I hope that someone with imagination will actually read this.

I don't really like the idea of a full blown revive system, this feature has ruined some parts of the gears of war multi-player, but I think it would be pretty cool if you were rammed by a vehicle or hit by some exploding thing, thrown several feet, and while lying on the ground dazed and at near death, you were given an opportunity to fire a last rocket, or whatever weapon you have at the moment, at the bastard that just slammed you.

Maybe they could even throw in the option for a team-mate to help you out before the driver of the vehicle, or his buddy for that matter, clean you up. I think this would work kind of like the last stand perk in call of duty, but less retarded of coarse, maybe you will be dazed and you won't go into it before any death. Actually, If you have ever beaten the call of duty 4 campaign, you could compare this to the end where you are all blasted to the ground and are dizzy and near death and are given the chance to kill the Russian operative, who's name escapes me at the moment.

See? See how this guy stated his opinion without flaming! Very nicely done, and I respect your opinion. Thank you for the feedback!

You sir, are a gentleman.

ok heres my two cent i think its not a bad idea with a bit of refinement but also that it wouldnt suit the single player as part of the chance of dying and starti just startng again at the last checkpoint is part of the charm that the games a challange specially when playing solo on legendary if they added it two ODST it would be good would give you that little bit more of a chance making it to the next round of fire fight

Revival for firefight... Now THAT is a great idea.

  • 08.09.2009 3:17 PM PDT

Hey, I play games.

I could see scenarios where revival in firefight would be really convenient and I see scenarios where it can be really retarded. In my opinion constantly getting revived in firefight just to make it to he next level isn't really worth it. It just doesn't seem like it would fit in most situations, Bungie could really make the system useful in firefight, but it seems kind of a waist if they are going hammer out all problems just for a few scenarios it would come in handy. On the other hand, this may be a really good opportunity for bungie to impress people with firefight.
