Except reloading two weapons at once with any degree of speed requires dexterity that cannot easily be achieved by normal humans under combat conditions. Carrying a heavy turret however, requires strength, not dexterity, which would be provided by adrenaline, which is a definite under combat conditions.

Strength is one thing. Strength and ambidexterity is quite another.

Mmmmm, Cheese....

Think about it, you are an odst. A brute is half a mile away holding a nuke, would you like dual smg's where you can't aim. Or have 1 smg and scope him to death.

  • 06.11.2009 4:02 PM PDT

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

Dual wielding scoped weapons? You crazy.

Dual wielding isn't just about being able to hold a weapon in each hand.

Those who can dual wield are capable of holding/aiming/firing dissimilar weapons simultaneously with consistent accuracy.

it is modern combat... the dual wielding thing have never existed in combat, even though you may have seen tomb raider... lol...

the best weapons is two handed... but this is a game... yes... but think about it twice... oh yes I have right!

Die Huh .. SPARTANS NEVER DIE Fool!

Its coo ppl barely dual wield anyway ha ha and its not that tactical anyway and thats what ODST is all about tactics. you cant just go in blazin with 2 smgs. Also i think its because Bungie is trying to show us the gap between ODST and SPARTAN, their trying to make the chief unique. $$

Team Slayer: 48
Team Doubles: 46
Team SWAT: 46
MLG: 45
Team Snipers: 43
Squad Battle: 37

They can also use a gravity hammer, which is really quite dumb.

Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

i belive shhave funzes suppos

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Keep in mind being able to carry those turrets is for Firefight. Without it, the turret would be useless on its stand as it gets annihilated in the first 10 seconds of enemy spawning...same with the Gravity Hammer. It's an edge you would likely need for later levels where you get multiple Hunter pairs(Gravity Hammer could hold them off while the squad cuts down any annoying Brutes long distance before they surround you with the Hunters in your face).

In Halo 2, Miranda Keyes dual-wields SMG's.

If a 25 year old, 110lb Navy officer can do that, why can't a hardened ODST capable of hefting a Spartan Laser?

Riddle me that

Edit: I'm just playing Devil's Advocate, I don't actually want dual-wielding in haha. I understand that they want to put the emphasis on tactics and the like, and dual-wielding would be illogical for, for example, a Brute Spiker, which is actually a pretty hefty weapon. A marine wouldn't be able to dual wield one of those, I'm betting.

Wait doesn't she get captured after she tries that? I may be confusing myself I don't remember halo 2 storyline that well.
You need to be amazing if you can accurately fire 2 guns at the same time or reload 2 at the same time with any kind of speed.
Spartan lasars are heavy and by the looks of it just a tad bit heavier than rockets (not sure though) and really only require the strength to prop it on your shoulder and pivot it to fire a shot off (which occurs at most every 4 seconds so there isn't any issue with recoil

Said it once, I'll say it again:

Dual Wielding is more a matter of aiming both guns, rather than simplying having the strenght to hold two guns. .

  • 06.11.2009 4:42 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

You try holding automatic weapons and firing them accurately. Now, try holding a very heavy gun and spraying it at the enemy. Which seems more plausible.

The fallen shall be remember as the finest of all Spartans!

I thought the turrets are heavy to lift and yet you can carry it as an ODST (sure does move quicker carrying than the Spartans do, fix this Bungie?)
